The Highwood Hut Reviews

Michaela
What an amazing place to stay. It is in an incredible location. Secluded, off the beaten track and brimming with nature. The hut is spotless. So very well thought out with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Lots of little extras make this a little slice of heaven. The barbecue and hot tub are great additions. The host is a lovely lady . Nothing is too much trouble and she is so friendly and welcoming. It is a great spot for visiting the many great locations around the cornish coast and no better place to go back to after a long day out. Honestly the perfect place for us.
We stayed for two nights in July 2026 and absolutely loved it. It was exactly as described and worked very well for us. We aren't 'outdoorsy' people so weren't sure about booking a shepherds hut but shouldn't have worried. It had everything we needed and great instructions for all of the amenities. Set in the middle of nowhere, you can just relax with the nature around you. A huge amount of bird life including swallows flying around us sitting having drink in the hot tub.

Beautiful accommodation, every detail taken care of, we really enjoyed our 4 night stay. We would 100 stay again.
Had a wonderful 5 night stay and slept really well despite the recent heatwave lovely comfortable bed and a beautifully clean hut with very nice modern shower and everything else you would want to have the most delightful stay. Beautiful peaceful garden to sit and relax in the shade I downloaded the Merlin bird song app so lovely to know which birds are close by we had daily visits from the robins and blackbirds very prettily lit with solar lights in the evenings. Very handy spotless outdoor shed to store any belongings, also with a useful clothing rail and drying rack and wood storage for hot tub etc. We made the most of the bbq and fabulous hot tub & even had a cold dunk on the hottest day which was fantastic.Emma was a pleasure to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed including some little welcome treats! The location was perfect for us extremely quiet but also just 5 minutes drive from the A38 to easily set us off in any direction. Thank you for having us we wouldnt hesitate in returning!!
We had a fantastic stay at Highwood Hut it truly is a home away from home. The attention to detail throughout the hut and garden is exceptional, with everything thoughtfully designed to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Emma is a wonderful host, incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, and the BBQ was a great addition. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather during our stay, so we made full use of both and enjoyed spending our evenings outdoors. It was the perfect escape, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Highwood Hut to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

The Highwood hut was a fabulous place to stay for us for our Honeymoon, it allowed us to have that peace with nature and just relax, but also close to the town to have a walk around and a spot to eat. The treats on arrival were a nice and pleasant surprise. All instructions were clear, particularly for the hot tub which was great for unwinding The WiFi and smart tv were great pluses too Thank you to Emma, the owner, for allowing us to spend such a lovely time in this great hut
Great little place. Garden is private enough without being 100 completely secluded. Helps that it is right in the countryside.
Such a delightful and wonderful little getaway in the country. Everything was definitely well thought through and was so cosy. If you ever need to get out of the house and refresh your mind, this is the place!
Would 100 stay again, the hosts were lovely and always letting us know they were available if we need them. The hut was fantastic and the little touches made it extra special! Thank you!
Very cosy, clean and well thought out property, hot tub & BBQ were prefilled and plenty of wood provided. Emma was friendly and helpful when questions were asked and responded quickly, off road parking was a bonus, would definitely recommend.

This hut is located in a beautiful, quiet but easy to get to location just 5 mins from the A38. Emma is a helpful and generous host who left a welcome package for my arrival. The huts listed facilities are all in excellent condition and high quality, the bed is comfortable. There is plenty of hot water and the shower room is good.
We loved the seclusion and privacy of Highwood Hut. It has everything you need and has been very tastefully styled. Evening soaks in the hot tub and the most comfortable bed were the perfect end to days exploring. Excellent communication and support from the owner throughout. Hope to return again.
The Highwood hut is a great place for a couple's getaway! The hut itself is decorated to a high standard and in immaculate condition. The garden and private driveway is great and the hot tub was an added bonus! Thank you for the extra kindling for the hot tub, much appreciated. You have everything you want and more which is amazing! Although I didn't meet Emma in person, she was a great host with quick communication no question was an issue, quick to reply via text and rescued the day by providing us with extra toilet roll D Myself and my partner will definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to our family and friends. The only thing that would make it better is having the option to bring a dog. Thank you, Joely and Tony
Such a lovely little hut in the woods, really cute. Only a short way to shops or beaches, with lots of activities around the area too. Has all the necessities you need inside and a luxury hot tub to dip into outside. Cant thank Emma enough for being a great host too, only a text away if you need anything.

Lovely little getaway with the wife. Hut was very very clean with everything you need to hand. Hot tub was a big plus and the little extra touches was very much appreciated. Nice secluded area but not too far from main roads to all parts of Cornwall made it an ideal location.

We had a wonderful stay at this place, and I want to give special thanks to Emma, the manager. She looked after everything and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The property was extremely clean, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The hot tub was perfect, and the beds were very comfortable as well. Everything in the property felt new and well maintained. The location is excellent, with a beautiful road leading to the place. The private car park gave us peace of mind about our cars safety. Its a calm and peaceful area where you can enjoy nature, birds, and greenery. Theres also a barbecue available if you want to cook outside, which we really enjoyed. Emma is a lovely and friendly personvery professional, helpful, and always quick to respond to messages. The area felt safe, even at night, and it was reassuring to know she was nearby if we needed anything. Shops are conveniently located tooAldi is about three miles away, and Morrisons is even closer. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and would definitely book again if we return to Cornwall. Mahtab
