About Leeward Cottage

Leeward Cottage is an elegant home in Cosheston, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with a hot tub and Cleddau Estuary views. This gorgeous home is ideal for families with a travel cot, highchair and stairgate and all the home comforts you could need for a self-catering break.

Driving up to this cottage you can appreciate the character with its gable roof, large windows and charming stone walls. Turn the handle and discover your peaceful retreat, the open-plan living kitchen and dining room, are stylish and harmoniously designed with exposed beams and electric fire, bringing warmth to this space.

There is plenty of seating for watching family films or eating a home-cooked favourite in the formal dining area. The kitchen is stacked with equipment, such as a coffee machine, to fuel you for your day of adventure.

There is a ground-floor king that is tastefully decorated and a wet room, which is ideal for those with limited mobility. Down a few steps, you will find the rest of the bedrooms, a king with an en-suite, a snug twin room and some bunk beds; there is also a family bathroom with a luxury freestanding bath.

Outside provides pleasing views, you can throw some burgers on the barbecue and eat at the bench, or have some drinks on the sun lounges. The highlight of this cottage is the hot tub, which is elegantly elevated and provides a blissful landscape of the nearby water.

If you can pull yourself away from this appealing abode, then step inside a bubble and let the adventure begin with some zorbing at Heatherton World of Activities, you can lap around the track in the go-karts, cruise in the bumper boats, or hit the targets with some pistol shooting. Carew Castle & Tidal Mill is a great place to take a mindful stroll; the water mill provides pleasant scenery, and you can try some archery or sip some refreshments in the tearoom.

Pembroke Castle - SA71 4LA

Pembroke Castle is thought to be the birthplace of the Tudor dynasty and is an excellent choice for a family day trip. The castle one of the areas most iconic landmarks and features an amazing 75ft high Great Tower! Visitors can also take a tour of the Norman Hall and the Exhibition Rooms where the displays change regularly. There is also a Picnic area and plenty of open space for children to run around in the grounds and gardens. The site also has a cafe and a gift shop.
Dinosaur Park - SA67 8DE

The Dinosaur Park is located in Tenby and makes the perfect family day out.  Activities on offer include fossil hunting, Dino Crafts, Pat a Pet and the treasure hunt.  For both toddlers and older kids there's an indoor adventure playground, ideal when the weather is not on your side.  The high-tec activity centre is always popular with interactive fun and education.  New in 2010 is Hooplasaurus.  Check out their website for the latest admission prices and what's on when you plan to visit.

Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire is an award winning Farm attraction, offering fun for the whole family come rain or shine. The main attractions are the Zoo, Farm and Petting Barn and there is also a huge Adventure Play Area and a small funfair with traditional rides. Priced at just £8.00 for adults and £7.00 for children it offers excellent value for money. There are several places to eat and drink including a licensed bar and a family friendly restaurant.

As long as children are over 8 and everyone is fit and well the whole family can enjoy a day of climbing, descending down mountains, cliff jumping and Island hopping. Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!
