Beggars Retreat Reviews

David
The cottage is in a quiet location, situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, with only the odd tractor or farmer's 4x4 driving past. The cottage is a long barn, very tastefully converted with a well appointed kitchen. WiFi is excellent (average 200Mbps). A smart tv in living room and bedroom with all the catchup apps. All in all a very pleasant experience made even better for having Mr Archer ( Duncan) available for any possible problems. Looking forward to going again.
Christopher
The cottage facilities are excellent indoor and outside. There is a lovely fully dog proof fenced grass area and patio. Inside underfloor heating throughout and a log burner. Comfortable furnishings, sofa, armchair etc.

Everything was excellent.really comfortable, great location.

Lovely converted one storey barn in a very rural location approx. 7 miles from the coast. Well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Comfortable bed and wonderfully soft fluffy towels! Small garden at the front which is dog proof for most normal sized dogs - mine is a lot smaller than most and easily got under the gate but the road is very quiet, in fact it becomes a track just past the house and is a nice evening walk with pretty sunset views. Same views can be enjoyed from the cottage garden with a glass of something chilled. Itâ??s a very relaxing place to stay. Out and about the beaches are sandy and mostly not too busy, inland the Wolds are beautiful and there are many excellent walks and cycle routes.

Beautiful, peaceful location.

A lovely little cottage, just perfect for what we needed. It was very close to local beaches (approx 15 minutes drive) and set in some beautiful countryside. Duncan, the host was very friendly. Hot tub was great to relax in the evenings. Garden was secure for a small dog. Everything you needed at the cottage and everything was immaculately clean.

A Perfect Retreat for Pups and People! Our stay at the cottage was fantastic. The accommodation itself was comfortable and well-appointed. We particularly appreciated the cozy bedroom, the modern bathroom with walk-in shower, and a kitchen that was thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials. A huge bonus for us was the secure garden, which our puppy loved having the freedom to run around in. The cottage boasts a wonderfully secluded and peaceful location, yet it's incredibly convenient for exploring. With national parks, picturesque woodland walks, and beautiful beaches just a stone's throw away, we had endless opportunities to tire out our energetic pup. After our adventures, the good-sized hot tub was the perfect spot to unwind and relax in the evenings. The owners were delightful â?? friendly and readily available whenever we needed anything. We wholeheartedly recommend this cottage for anyone seeking a serene escape with easy access to nature, especially if you're bringing along a furry friend!

Idyllic sums up this beautiful cottage and area.So comfortable, homely, and tastefully decorated. Beaches vast and clean, Thettlethorpe beach a must. A dog owners paradise on the doorstep with a large number of dog friendly areas and public house option's outwith. We've never returned to the same place twice, but we envisage we will be returning again and again.

This property is surrounded by fields and wildlife in a very relaxing spot, Duncan the owner is friendly and helpful and respects your privacy if needed, the property is finished to a high standard and is very well equipped, furniture including the bed are very comfortable and the shower is excellent. There is a patio area to the front of the property with table and chairs and hot tub if needed and a small lawn, and a patio area to the side which are all enclosed, useful if you have a dog. The property is 14 minutes by car to the nearest beach, 18 minutes to Mablethorpe where there are major supermarkets and other coastal towns are 20minutes away. We had a lovely week visiting coastal towns and walking coastal footpaths and beach walks and coming back to a comfortable and warm property or sitting outside on the patio with the dog watching the wildlife in this very quiet area of Linconshire. We are already making plans to hopefully return next year.

From the first view of property, which was easy to find, you are impressed. When you enter the property that wow factor continues. Exceptional clean and everything provided, even a towel to wipe your dogs feet. Very peaceful and a Coop shop and takeaway in Manby. The owner is very welcoming but not intrusive. Hot tub for your personal use and lovely sitting out area. Enclosed grass area for dog to exercise. All in all the perfect relaxing getaway.

Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 4 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 13 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 13 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 17 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
