Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this chic glamping yurt sitting in a complex of eight yurts on Norfolk’s historic Raynham Estate. Sleeping four people across one super-king-size and two single beds, it’s ideal for small families or groups of friends who are dreaming of slowing down and embracing the glamping lifestyle in the heart of the Norfolk countryside.
Wake up and head off to Pensthorpe National Park (6 miles) to spot flamingos, cranes and kingfishers on its 700 acres of gardens and wetlands. Or head to Houghton Hall (8 miles) to admire the magnificent 18th-century Palladian mansion that was built for Britain’s first Prime Minister, Robert Walpole.
Spend a happy few hours discovering its impressive staterooms and beautifully landscaped parklands, where deer roam freely across the land. Or if you’re seeking a little excitement, treat yourself to a big day out at Fakenham Racecourse (4 miles).
From your private parking area (there’s room for 2 cars), step inside your yurt, and you’ll find a glamorous open-plan space to relax in after a day hiking along Norfolk’s woodland trails. Surprisingly spacious, this cleverly designed space features geometric wall decor that’s centred around a skylight that somehow makes the yurt feel both large yet intimate.
A traditional wood burner takes centre stage, and a generous super-king-bed and the two singles are tucked into the curved walls. Step outside and you’ll find your own picnic bench and charcoal BBQ for those fun al fresco evenings.
Alternatively, you can make your way to the shared kitchen and dining area, which is located just a few steps away. After dinner, take a dip in your private wood-fired hot tub, and then gather around your private firepit.
