Set on a leafy site, this glamping pod is perfect for couples and small families looking for a rural retreat within easy reach of the coast. Sleeping two guests, with the option of two more on a futon, the one-bedroom retreat is set on a park near Alby, 2.5 miles from Roughton.

Head to Cromer, 6 miles away, to spend time on the beach, amble along the pier and browse in the shops. Sheringham, where you can also swim, is 10.5 miles away.

Take a steam train from here along the North Norfolk Railway to the Georgian market town of Holt, which is popular for shopping and dining out. Keen walkers can pick up the scenic North Norfolk Coast Path and follow it through picturesque marshland, across huge sandy beaches and along rocky clifftops.

Cross the garden and take two steps up onto the wooden deck in front of your welcoming pod. Linger for a moment or two to appreciate your private outside space before taking another step up to enter the glamping retreat.

Once inside, discover welcoming accommodation with an abundance of natural wood and fresh white linens. Your open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom is compact but creatively designed to encompass everything you will need for your stay.

Put the kettle on for a cup of tea and slice of Norfolk apple cake. Sit at the table or in the comfortable seat to enjoy your snack and perhaps watch the Smart TV for an hour or two.

When bedtime arrives, your double bed awaits. You can also request a pullout futon for two extra guests.
