The Grainstore Reviews

Carolyn
Lovely cute barn, smaller than I expected from the photos but the bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent and the living area perfect for our party, would return

We had such a great stay at The Grainstore; it really was the perfect weekend escape. The place is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. The beds were really comfortable and the games room was a brilliant bonus â?? loads of fun and a great way to unwind. Itâ??s just on the outskirts of a lovely village, and we especially loved the local butchers/deli â?? amazing quality and such a treat to have nearby. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back!
Carol
Very comfortable, although the main oven was extremely slow to heat food. Generally very well equipped and comfortable
Patricia
Very nice and roomy which is needed when there are 9 of you. Sporting facilities are good as it kept kids off their I pads. The welcome gifts were greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend the place to friends and family.
Derek
A perfect 4-night stay for five couples. Everything was perfect - highly recommended!
Janet
Beautiful accommodation, immaculately clean. Photos do not do the property justice. The games facilities and park area were fabulous for the children. Would definitely go back there.
Maralyn
The accommodation was lovely and very suitable for an all age family gathering. The tranquil setting was beautiful and the owners very welcoming and friendly. We would heartily recommend the barn.
Steven
The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We were particularly pleased that all the bedrooms were nice doubles with an en suite. The owners are wonderful and couldnâ??t do enough to ensure you have a nice stay. They very kindly left us a home made cake, bottle of fizz and crisps which was much appreciated.

This house was the perfect location for a reunion of old friends. Spacious enough for 10, but still cosy enough to feel homely. The house was immaculately clean and the kitchen equipment was spot on. The welcome milk and Prosecco and the wonderful homemade cake were lovely touches as well! I would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying again!
Christine

Our weekâ??s holiday in Norfolk was made even better by our stay at The Grainstore. It was spacious with a great sociable space, perfect for our three generations to spend quality time together. It was exceptionally clean and beautifully presented, very well equipped with comfortable and plentiful sofas, and very comfortable super king beds. It was such a luxury to have en-suite bathrooms to all the bedrooms! The outside space, overlooking the duck pond, and the large gas barbecue were great as was the childrenâ??s playground and the games room. There is something here for everyone to enjoy! A brilliant holiday home which we hope to revisit in the future!
Jennifer
The Grainstore was a lovely place for a holiday. The house was well equipped and comfortable. It was in a very good area for cycling. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the cake which was left for us.

The Grainstore was fabulous and really well equipped. Everything was thought of. Loved the welcome pack which was done excellently. It was the perfect place to relax and there was more than enough space for the 9 of us including 4 children. It was lovely to have a cake and some wine left which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended, but next time I think we'll leave the kids behind and make it an adults only break when we book again. Thank you so much for all the help. It was really appreciated.
Fiona

Attractions Near The Grainstore

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained at The Grainstore itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 7 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 7 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 8 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 9 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 18 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 19 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 27 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
