About Woodlands Rest

This stunning safari-style tent enjoys a peaceful setting on a family-run site in Hintlesham, close to the Suffolk/Essex border. The luxurious accommodation welcomes six guests across three uniquely styled bedrooms, and is ideal for families and friends looking to fully switch off and embrace nature.

You’ll be surrounded by ancient woodlands to explore, and the tent overlooks a magnificent wildlife lake with otters and mallards. Just 10 miles away is Dedham Vale National Landscape – a paradise for keen walkers – and you’ll also be less than 20 miles from the coast.

Your nearest town is Hadleigh (5 miles), known for its stunning historic buildings and timber-framed houses. The town has a great range of independent shops and eateries, and also hosts a popular weekly market.

Nearby family days out include the seaside town of Felixstowe, the water sports hub at Alton Water, and Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, all within 20 miles. The woodland retreat is located on a boutique glamping site with three other tents.

From the patio area, climb the steps to the veranda and step inside the impressive safari tent. The main living space is a gorgeous lounge/kitchen/diner with rustic furniture, plush soft furnishings, and a colour palette to reflect the local landscape.

The wooden, hand-crafted kitchen area has everything needed to whip up hearty feasts for the group using ingredients gathered from your travels. There’s also a chic breakfast bar for perching with a glass of wine at the end of an action-packed day.

For large, family get-togethers there’s a dining table to seat everyone, with further seating available outside on the patio. In the evenings, fire up the wood burner to create a cosy atmosphere and settle down on the Chesterfield sofa with your favourite book or perhaps play a boardgame from the selection provided.
