About Carr Meadow View

A beautifully finished cottage right at the heart of the Peak District, this Derbyshire holiday home offers year-round comfort. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, dog-friendly hideaway is perfect for extended families and larger parties of friends.

Situated near Hayfield, 3 miles from Glossop and 6 miles from Chapel-en-le-Frith, it is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the High Peak. Savour the setting from the comfort of the cottage, with its wood burner and hot tub, or head off to explore on foot.

Pick up the Pennine Way at Mill Hill, 3.5 miles away, or venture into Edale, 12.5 miles away. Follow the National Trust’s challenging 7.5-mile Kinder Scout circular walk, with its panoramic views, 14 miles away.

Visit the Blue John Cavern, 10.5 miles from the cottage, then head on to Padley Gorge, 22.5 miles from your base, to wander through the ancient woodland and spot an array of wildlife. Open the front door to the cottage and wander into the inviting lounge, with its cosy green feature wall and honey-coloured wooden floor, to make yourselves at home.

Open the French doors to the garden on summer days so everyone can wander outside. Fire up the wood burner when it’s chilly and settle down on the soft blue sofas to rest and recuperate after your latest expedition.

Watch TV or simply gaze out over the garden and the countryside beyond. The country-style kitchen/diner, with its flagstone floor and farmhouse table, is another superb social space.

This also has doors that can be pulled back to the garden in the spring and summer months. Find ample food storage in the units and plenty of preparation space on the wooden work surfaces so you can cater for yourselves and dine together in comfort.
