Church View Reviews

We enjoyed our stay in Church View. There was a welcome pack waiting for us with some coffee, milk and eggs and a bottle of Prosecco. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels and bathrobes. Every appliance you could want home from home. Will definitely be back.
Steven
The log cabin was comfortable, but in need of a deep clean. The location is pleasant, except that there is an industrial unit alongside which was occasionally quite noise. The hot tube needed some tlc. There was no information provided on arrival, regarding the availability of a free swim, we were not told where to take rubbish, we're not given details of WiFi until we went back to ask. The location and walk to the village was pleasant.
Very warm extremely clean excellent white goods. Very comfortable bed and lovely bed linen.
Cabin was clean and a nice welcome package on arrival Hot tub had a broken ... Cabin was clean and a nice welcome package on arrival Hot tub had a broken lid making it awkward to open at times Cabin was connected to reception so there was consistent noise during open hours No locks on bathroom door
This is the second time that we have stayed at Church View and this stay was just as enjoyable as last time. One of the settees has now been replaced with a much comfier one which made the stay more pleasant than last time. The lodge is lovely and warm, cosy and was spotlessly clean. Maintenance staff check the water in the hot tub daily and The Rutland Kitchen cafe opposite the lodge offers a great menu of both eat in and takeaway food. The Vegan pizza that I had was the best I have ever tasted and friends who came for the day said the same about their pizzas too.
Fantastic break staff brilliant friendly hot tub amazing pool superb shall be returning soon
The lodge was wonderful, very clean and great location. We took our dog with us and it was great for her, enclosed, clean and tidy, hot tub was lovely. Staff very helpful.
Spacious property, clean, well equipped and loved the jacuzzi
Jonathan
Lovely property and site, second time we've stayed on this site now and cannot fault the staff who are very friendly and helpful. Property itself was just as described, bed was lovely and comfortable, the sofa could possibly do with an upgrade but other than that everything else was spot on.

Both the settees were in poor condition and the bathroom had not been cleaned ... Both the settees were in poor condition and the bathroom had not been cleaned The noise from the back was a continuous bang, bang However overall not bad we cut our stay and returned on Thursday
Well appointed cabin, that takes dogs and has a hot tub, what's not to like! Back area is mostly laid to slabs so my dogs were not used to this but they did wee in the gravel. There is some conversational noise that comes from Reception that adjoins but it didn't bother us and it closed at 6. The cafe opposite is an added bonus. Great selection of main mealsbreakfast and they will deliver.
Very well equipped lodge, great patio area with hot tub, sun beds and bbq, unfortunately we didnt get the weather to fully utilise. The lodge was described as next to reception, it is actually part of the same building, it wasnt quite as private as we would have liked but we still enjoyed our stay.
It must be noted, that this accom is not near reception, but it is part of the reception building, we could hear all the conversations of guests arriving and departing, there was only a door between the receptionoffice space to where we were accomadated, listing is not 100 accurate. Also, when we were cleaning on the last day there, we stripped the bed, only to find under the pillow case, a soaked blood stained pillow Germs ?, also tissues on the floor behind the bed stead !!!!!!!. All in all, a nice place to rest and relax, had all the facils that a house would have and met all our needs for a short stay
Gillian
We had a lovely time & found the lodge was suitable for my Husband & I plus our dog Sam. Lodge was fully equipped, even a welcome pack which was a surprise. We would stay at Rutland Lodges again.

It was very clean when we got there and the site also was clean to. The food in the cafe was very good and every one was very friendly.

This was our third time staying at Church View. As usual we thoroughly enjoyed our stay the facilities are excellent. The staff on site are friendly and helpful and we always love the welcome pack of wine, chocolate and fresh eggs. The only issue worth mentioning is that the door between the lounge and bedroom doesnt have a working catch which meant our dogs could push open the door and sneak into the bedroom when we werent looking..
Stephen
Great little cabin, hot tub was excellent. Slight noisesmell disturbance from adjacent industrial unit, didn't spoil our stay but may affect some
Lionel
Excellent lodge really comfortable facility was excellent will go back soon

I enjoyed four lovely days at Church View lodge. The lodge was spotlessly clean. The owners provided everything from washing up liquid to a super welcome pack including eggs, chocolates and a bottle of wine, which I enjoyed very much during my stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the living area was very relaxing. Thank you for a lovely holiday venue.
Lindsey
Really nice lodge, with plenty of space, comfortable bed, enjoyable hot tub and great shower. Nice area with easy distance to local village and good location to areas of interest and walking. Park restaurant served very nice meals, site very clean and site never got overly noisy. Would definitely book again when visiting the area in the future. Staff very friendly and helpful. Brilliant location for people with dogs.
Jennifer
Property was extremely clean, bed was super comfy. We couldn't fault the food from the restaurant, it was delicious. The whole park was kept clean and tidy. The staff are very welcoming and have fantastic customer care. The park was not far from anything we wanted to visit. It is a very short drive to Rutland Waters. Overall fantastic stay could have stayed for longer. Would definitely return.
Lovely log cabin, very clean and comfortable hot tub was great, and very relaxing, would definitely return but at a slightly warmer time of year. Just a couple of minor requests could do with a shelf in the bathroom, no where to put things like your glasses whilst you shower etc, slotted spoo n and tongs in the kitchen would also be good.
Timothy
Beautifully presented lodge, on a quite secluded site. Only a short walk in to the village and a short drive to Oakham. The lodge was lovely and clean for arrival. The host provided a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, coffee pods for the coffee machine, prosecco and fresh eggs. The lodge was extremely well equipped with tv's in both the lounge and bedroom, CD playerradio, WiFi access and a well equipped kitchen, with induction hob, double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine as well as kettle, dolce gusto coffee machine and toaster. Also provided was a cleaning hamper with cleaning products, washing up sponge, cloth and dishwasher tablets. The bed was extremely comfortable and a fan is provided for those warmer nights. The bathroom was well equipped with a over the bath shower which is both hot and very powerful, with plenty of towels provided and fresh bath robes. The hottub was fantastic, well maintained and hot for arrival and maintained daily during our stay. The patio area also had table and chairs with a parasol, sun loungers and a bbq. Despite other reviews about noise with this lodge being attached to the reception building we had no complaints, yes you could hear a bit of chatter and laughter from reception, I wouldn't consider it noisy, and this was only between 8am6pm not early in the morning and late at night and we found it extremely peaceful. Will definitely be returning again.
Enjoyed the stay lovely surroundings and very peaceful.
Natalie
We had such a lovely time! The only reason I didnt got to the end with the cleanliness is because there where a lot of cobwebs but thats just us being picky really coz it was so lovely everywhere, and didnt put it to the end with facilities because one of us cut our hand and there was no first aid kit we could find, but luckily I brought one haha, overall we really had a lovely stay and was just what we needed
Iuliia
Had a fantastic Christmas break at the cabin. The property has everything you need for a few days' stay. The cabin is warm and cosy, has a good size kitchen if you'd like to cook your meals, the bed is super comfy, and the hot tub at the back is amazing during cold weather. Will definitely consider going back for summer holidays!
