About Hazel Hut

A rustic haven ideal for couples, this enchanting shepherd’s hut is everything you’ve been seeking for a romantic break. Set in leafy Nottinghamshire, the one-bedroom retreat sleeps two guests and enjoys excellent privacy on a tranquil site in South Leverton, 6 miles from Retford.

Spend your days watching the wildlife around you or venture 11.5 miles to Spalford Warren – one of the rarest animal habitats in the county. The Idle Valley Nature Reserve (7 miles) is also an excellent destination for nature lovers.

Bring your four-legged friend along and enjoy scenic walks beside the River Trent. Take in the views and watch the barges drift by at the picturesque Torksey Lock (9.5 miles).

During your stay, make time to visit Lincoln (16.5 miles) to stock up on local produce, unwind in a traditional pub serving local ales, and explore the cathedral and castle. Before stepping into this peaceful shepherd’s hut, take a moment to appreciate your natural surroundings, listening out for birdsong and watching the piglets potter about.

Climb the seven steps up to the property and head inside to uncover a studio-style living space filled with natural light and warm wooden textures. A central wood burner doubles as both your heating and oven, adding a cosy touch on chillier days.

Beside it sits a compact kitchen area with everything needed for cooking light meals and preparing picnics for days of adventure. Enjoy meals at the breakfast bar or dine alfresco in the outdoor seating area.

When it’s time to retire for the night, an inviting double bed awaits at the end of the hut, perfectly positioned beside the wood burner. Completing the property is a shower room featuring a compost WC.
