Overlea Cottage

When we arrived we were greeted with soft Jazz music, a welcome pack of food, and a beautiful cottage. We had such a peaceful and comfortable time there, we really didnt want to leave, And of course the wonderful Hot Tub was the cherry on the cake. We will definitely be visiting again.

Our stay at Overlea Cottage exceeded our expectations. From the minute you enter the door, the soft music playing in the background welcomes you. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and the attention to detail is great. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in and the huge bathroom was a real treat. After a long day exploring the area, the hot tub was a delight to soak those tired muscles. Overall the area is secluded and ideal for a total relaxing break but with plenty to do in the area.

From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we had made the right choice in Overlea Cottage. A welcome pack with essentials, showed real care and attention to detail. As soft music played in the background, it created a warm and calming atmosphere that made our arrival feel extra special. This cottage stay was just what was needed to enjoy and relax.

Our stay at Overlea Cottage was absolutely wonderful! The spec, the cleanliness and the warm welcoming care package plus the ambient music playing upon arrival really made the entire place feel lovely. We had a brilliant time celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary and thanks to the owners we knew exactly where to eat out locally, which hiking trails were nearest and which taxi ranks were available in the area. The hot tub was clean and very hot on arrival and stayed that way throughout. Thank you so much for a great experience, we will definitely be booking again!

We really enjoyed our stay at overlea Cottage,such a beautiful cottage,it was everything we expected and more,I could not recommend this place highly enough,we fell in love with the place,our first time using sykes cottages and it won't be the last.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location surrounded by gorgeous views, within a short driving distance of Manchester. Amazing atmosphere on check in and amenities like milk, bread, eggs, butter and biscuits to get us going, very helpful. Linens were high quality, smelt amazing and really added to the comfort of the stay. Thank you for the stay, and we hope to return

We enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon at Overlea Cottage. It was everything we wished for, and a perfect stay, definitely among the very best selfcatering places Ive stayed in, and its even nicer is reality than in the photographs. Well definitely be returning.

A perfect escape in a real gem of a cottage. From the minute we arrived it really was a perfect stay. The quality of everything is 1st class, with real attention to detail. After busy days exploring Bakewell, Buxton, Banford Edge, Ladybower Resevoir, Castleton and Lyme Park coming back to a glass of wine sat in the hot tub looking over the fields was amazing. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch. All together it was the most perfect place for us to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at Overlea cottage. A beautiful property, equipped with everything needed to a very high standard. Clean & comfortable. Owner on hand if any issues, but not needed by us. Great spot for exploring the local area, relaxing in the hot tub & escaping from the daily grind. Will definitely return.. Helen & Les.

Fabulous stay at Overlea Cottage. The facilities are 10 out of 10. A wonderful welcome with relaxing music playing, hot tub ready to use. Would highly recommend this property in a peaceful location for some much needed rest and relaxation.

We enjoyed a long weekend stay at Overlea Cottage and would defintiely recommend it to everybody we know! The property is exactly as imagined picture perfect cottage situated in farmland housing sheep in one field and cows in another. The accommodation is warm and cosy and sympathetically decorated throughout keeping lots of original features. We made full use of the hot tub and log fire both evening's which were well maintained. During our stay we made use of the many nearby footpaths and rambled through the Derbyshire hills stumbling across a Michelin guide pub in Hayfield on our way. We loved our stay and would definitely like to return at some point in the future. Our only recommendation is that it would be nice if the vendors could provide more essentials such as food condiments ketchup, brown sauce, mayonnaise, jams, butter etc we were provided hotel size packet butter which wasn't the best! We completely understand the cottage is self catering however it's little things like this that sometimes gets forgotten about. Also the bathtub was beautiful and yet no bath soap to go with it! It's the little extras that go a long way.

Both property and owners are faultless. The cottage is in a fantastic condition with personal touches including a welcome pack and relaxing music been played in the cottage on arrival. A fantastic place for a fantastic relaxing stay. Would 100 recommend. And we will definitely be returning.

Had a great holiday in overlea cottage wonderful peaceful location with great walks from the door. Even when we had a small problem with the hot tub it was quickly resolved.the cottage is 5 star we will definitely come again Stewart and Wendy sleightholme

Lovely comfy cottage. Owner very helpful when needed. Good area for getting. Good week despite the great British weather!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay, my partner and I really felt as if we were home. My only qualm is the placement of the smoke detector which went off at deafening levels every time the oven door opened this made cooking a very anxietyinducing process. Couldn't fault anything else though, we've had an amazing time here!

The property was top notch for a cottage of this type. Couldnt fault the facilities and the jacuzzi was excellent. Nice welcome pack to boot!

We had a fabulous stay at Overlea Cottage, every little detail was thought of, the welcome hamper was a lovely touch, the cottage was immaculate and the hot tub was amazing. Will definitely recommend an hopefully re visit.

Incredible wouldve loved to have stayed longer! From arrival to relaxing music and a highly appreciated welcome basket of fresh milk, eggs, bread, butter, and biscuits, to departure, everything was perfect. The property was excellent, the welcome pack really helpful, and the facilities outstanding. Beautifully decorated throughout with everything youd need. Visited Ladybower reservoir, Derwent Dam, Castleton, Winnats Pass, Padley Gorge, Chee Dale Stepping Stones and the Monsal trail. Lots of nice places to eat within 515 mins drive. Tried The Hare and Hounds at Mill Brow, The Pack Horse in Hayfield, and Casa di Pizza in Whaley Bridge. After a day out exploring, to return to the hot tub, under floor heating, and free standing bath was just what was needed! Would highly recommend.

This was the best cottage that we have ever stayed in. It was so clean and extremally well decorated. The hot tub was very clean and very well maintained. I would like to thank Allen and Holly also for the welcome pack that was so thoughtful. It has been said so many times before but we will be going back. Thankyou again Allen & Holly.

A beautiful hidden gem. So peaceful and quiet. Well managed and maintained the owners were courteous and friendly. The hot tub was wonderful. A perfect place to go and relax and escape the chaos of our busy lives.

Wonderful Week away, this is our 3rd visit and have stayed in a different cottage each time. All charming, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Of course the Hot Tub is an absolute bonus on top, incredible views and complete peace and quiet. Host on hand when required but not intrusive at all! Cannot recommend the Over Lea Properties enough!!!

The property was amazing! The cottage was cozy, comfortable, nicely decorated, and was perfect down to the small details. When we walked in there was music playing, it smelt amazing, and the log burner had wood in it ready for use. All of the appliances were in perfect condition, there was a music system throughout the bottom level of the property, and the master bathroom was incredible. Zero complaints except for we wish we had booked another day. We will be back for a relaxing retreat at Overlea!

The cottage was lovely. The Christmas tree was waiting for us when we arrived along with relaxing music. The decor and atmosphere of the cottage was top notch. It gave us everything we expected and more. The location was excellent, footpath in front of the cottage which nobody seemed to use! Absolutely loved our stay and would recommend this place to anyone.
