Corn House Reviews

Angela
The extended family had a lovely time, and the owner was very helpful. Particular highlights for the children and adults too! were the pedal bikes great to have ones that took 2, the pool and the animals. A very good site for exploring the spectacular landscape and historical sites. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of bathroom space.
If we could give this property a 10 star we would , From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and at home. The place was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the little touches that made it extra special from the cozy fireplace to the wellequipped kitchen. The surroundings were peaceful and scenic, perfect for a quiet morning coffee or an evening walk. The host Sara was incredibly welcoming and responsive, offering great local recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed , you can tell Sara & her family have put there heart in to these properties and it shows she was wonderful so kind to us and on hand if we needed anything The indoor pool was definitely the highlight clean, wellmaintained, and perfect for both relaxation and fun. It made our stay feel extra special, Sara has thought of everything from arm bands for the kids to flip flops and extra towels , everything was so clean and for the extra price you pay for the pool its so reasonable, definitely worth it We will definitely be back again ! Sita & Family
A Fun Family Getaway with Some Unfortunate Surprises We stayed at Corn House as a group of 14, including adults and young children, and overall had a great time enjoying the beautiful Shropshire countryside and the range of onsite facilities. The location was excellentperfect for a family escapewith easy access to scenic spots like the Long Mynd, where we enjoyed a lovely hike with panoramic views. The facilities on site were a major highlight we loved the gokarts, tennis courts, swimming pool, games room, and the opportunity to feed the nearby animals, which was especially enjoyable for the younger members of our group. The host was welcoming and helpful during our arrival and made sure we had what we needed to get settled. The house itself had a charming, rustic character and was spacious enough to accommodate our group comfortably. That said, the interior decor felt quite outdated, and cleanliness could have been better in some areas. The communal spaces were fine, but some attention to detail was lacking.
Great space in a lovely setting. Plenty to do around the grounds with walks, games, animals, sports and spa facilities. It had everything we needed for a long weekend. Would love to go back.
We had the BEST time at corn house. The activities on site were fantastic the go karts were a huge hit for the whole family and the animals were so friendly we thoroughly enjoyed visiting them everyday. My only negative would be that its not exactly dog friendly, if there could be some sort of fencing around the garden to separate it from the main road this would be a huge benefit. Overall very happy and would highly recommend
Great location for a family gathering. Lovely comfortable accommodation and good quality communal areas games rooms and outdoor space. The gym and pool complex was fantastic, if a little pricey for a big group. Very well equipped kitchens which enabled us to do a lot of cooking. Only small complaint is that the small window in the annex bedroom does not have a blind so the room got very light at an early hour.
Kathryn
We stayed in Corn House and the Corn House Annex and it was stunning. Better than we could have imagined. We chose this location for how secluded it was but also how close it was to pubstowns etc and it was just perfect! We paid extra for use of the pool and gym and it made the stay even better. It wasnt expensive spilt between the 15 of us and gave us time during our busy weekend to relax. Overall a 1010 stay and would recommend to anyone thinking of staying here with family or friends.
A splendid property, it was almost a small village. Our property was certainly private, no overlooking when enjoying a garden barbecue. A particular positive for me was the small detail, the toilet rolls had insertions to avoid utility level plainness, toilet sets and lids were soft close The gym facilities were wonderful, with one small quibble. Entrance fee was the same for everyone, but under18s could not use the gym. Highly recommended.
Nadine
As a family of 15, ranging from 7 to 80 we all absolutely loved our stay here. The houses we rented two were immaculate, comfortable and visually stunning. They had everything we could possibly need in the kitchens and a lovely added touch of fresh flowers Loved being able to have a 'real' fire and provided firewood was such a thoughtful touch. When we first booked I was a bit annoyed at having to pay extra for the pool, thinking it should have been included in the price however, upon actually seeing the pool and gym facility I totally understood why! It is amazing, it's pristine, clean and again everything provided you could need. We all really loved our time spent there and thought it was definitely worth the extra money. As for the rest of facilities, games room was a massive hit, the animals were a hit, the go karts entertained even the adults Really enjoyed our time here and would definitely return.
The listing mentions a hot tub at the house, there was no hot tub. There were hairs in the beds along with stains on the pillows, which resulted in people sleeping on sofas. The woman who we believe was the owner, wasnt very helpful when asking where the house was and on 2 occasions across a 3 day weekend pestered us for more money in her words spare cash for using the swimming pool which we had already paid for at an additional charge. We had also paid for heating of the pool, but the pool was freezing during our paid session time. Everything seemed to be at an additional charge which is a real put off when youve spent so much booking already It is a shame as the house itself was beautiful but basic cleanliness and the pestering of the owner lets the property down.
The property and its amenities are fantastic. The house is comfortable and the kitchens are well equipped. We stayed for 5 nights at Plaish Park Farm with children ranging from 1 to 6, all of which had a great time. There's plenty to keep the kids entertained such as feeding the pigs veggie scraps or playing in the garden sandpit. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Plaish Park FarmCornhouse.

Lovely cottage which was perfect for our family weekend away. Great amenities and perfect setting! The leisure facilities were amazing also! The host was great and available throughout our stay.
It is an outstanding property. The decor is beautiful, the kitchen was fitted out with an abundance of crockery and cutlery. My group of friends and I stayed in the Corn House and its annexe with easy access to either property. We loved the shared seating area outside which enabled us to have quality time together. We didnt use the pool, as we thought that was a little overpriced, but we loved the games rooms with the table tennis and table football. Some of us also used the go carts which was great fun. I really think you thought of everything to make a stay at Corn House a wonderful experience. Many thanks to Sara and her family.
Christine
We had a lovely holiday in well equipped very comfortable properties. The games room, go karts and of course the animals were a bonus which we enjoyed too. I would have no hesitation in recommending the properties and the area.
Three generations had a fantastic week in this beautifully appointed and well equipped farm property, celebrating 80th birthdays for the oldies. We had very disappointing weather so local walks off the roads were impossible with muddy and waterlogged fields so difficult for the farmer. However there were two excellent games rooms on site table tennis, pool, darts etc which kept the teenagers occupied and we booked three private sessions in the beautiful pool and gym, pricey but superb. Lots of helpful information from Sara and outings to Ironbridge, Ludlow and Attingham Park. We had taken loads of eggs which was a shame as we could have collected them from the hens
Lovely set up that met the needs of all ages. Ideal location and facilities for a family stay. Host was always on hand for help and recommendations for local amenities.
Christine
Ovens need improving to cater for large groups Exceptionally expensive to use ... Ovens need improving to cater for large groups Exceptionally expensive to use leisure facilities which wasnt clear in original listing 200 every swim session Expensive gym sessions Flies in annex bedrooms were an issue, but nowhere else Beautiful properties Very well equipped met all our needs Amazing for family meet ups with children Loved the animals collecting the eggs feels very unique experience Great games rooms & lots of fun on the go karts & tennis Tonnes of outdoor & indoor space Good quality bedding & beds Very Clean tidy & well kept Lots of spare boots etc should they be needed
The only issue, which I have already shared with the owner, was the noise disturbance from the kitchen of Corn House through to the bedroom in Turnip House. There is a notice in Corn House asking for noise to be kept down but it was impossible to sleep in the Turnip House bedroom as partying next door went on until well after 2am. Otherwise it was a great place to stay for all ages and Sarah was very keen to be of assistance.
Stay at Corn House was wonderful! I would definitely recommend to a large group or family. There was plenty to do and the owners were super helpful! The place was lovely and clean and definitely instagram worthy!
Heather
We loved the house and had a great time. All the facilities had been very carefully thought out and beautifully maintained. One quibble, the garden at the back of The Corn House was very overshadowed by trees. The other houses at the site had lovely light outlooks. Some cutting back of the trees would be good although this might be a naturally happen since they are mainly ash!
Beautiful cottages, great facilities and a fabulous county to explore. A terrific place to celebrate with extended family. Be aware though, that the pool and gym are a separate business, requiring cash payment per person, per day, which was not so convenient for a large group. On the whole, a wonderful stay, with helpful hosts.
Matthew
A wonderful stay in amazing facilities and with the most helpful hosts. We had an excellent time with a large group and enjoyed our time on site so much we only touched on the surrounding area. We will definitely going back.
What a wonderful place to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday. Ages ranged from 70 down to our youngest granddaughter aged 4. Facilities catered for everyonethe older grandsonssoninlaw really enjoyed the two games rooms But the highlight for us all was the spa room with the magnificent swimming pool which was warm and had piped music I even did aqua aerobics for the girls in our party We celebrated grandads birthday with Sunday lunch in a lovely pub in Little Stretton sorry forgotten the name. The staff were amazing and really made it special for him besides being the best roast dinner ever We also bought take away for the Saturday night from Jaipur the Indian in Church Stretton which was also fabulous and would definitely recommend To say it was a cold week in January is an understatement but we were never once cold. Sara has the heating on low constantly and there was always plenty of hot water for us all to shower Facilities in the kitchen were in abundance and the large round dining room table for us all to sit round was the biggest wed ever seen Our conclusion was that if wed had such an enjoyable time in January just think how marvellous it would be for us all to come back in the warmer summer months
Joanne
A beautiful property in a fabulous location. A home from home. Plenty of kitchen equipment to cater for every need. Fantastic facilities in the two games rooms, kept the teenagers entertained. Access to WiFi, very useful as theres limited phone reception. Access to a beautiful pool and relaxation area at an additional cost but well worth it Caters fro large groups, with various combinations of properties. We were a group of 14 and were very comfortable. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Sophie
We stayed for 3 nights as a group of 13 to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. We all had an amazing time and my Mum said it was the best birthday she'd ever had, so you can't ask for more than that! Corn house is truly beautiful. We stayed here the weekend before Christmas 2022. The lovely Christmas decorations added to the cosy atmosphere. The spa is wonderful, though the pool was a bit cold given it was the middle of winter. Very happy we chose to stay here I have already recommended it to others and would love to stay again in the future.
We had a great stay and loved the the location and the property my only criticism would be that it needs to be made clearer that the pool facility is extra, we only spotted this after booking. On reflection I can understand why it is charged as extra but when viewing the photos for the facility it gives the impression that its included. A small point in know but as I was treating my family And there was 14 of us its an extra I had to budget for. Other than that small point we loved everything about our weekend.
Rebecca
An absolutely amazing property! ! We spent the jubilee weekend in the Corn House and annexe, three generations from one family, ranging from 6 to 75 years old. The house is beautifully furnished, extremely clean and very well presented. The property is set in beautiful countryside and has some excellent walks for the 2 dogs we brought with us! Facilities such as the go karts, the two games rooms and the fantastic pool and gym just added to our enjoyment! Our garden was well equipped with a large bbq, swing ball, a lovely outdoor table and chairs and a built in sandpit for the kids. Our children loved visiting the animals and collecting eggs each day. Sara is a fantastic host and its great that she lives on site so that you can ask her questions and advice when necessary. Nothing is too much trouble. We cannot wait to go back again!!!
When booking the cottage the Webb site did not tell you that the pool facility ... When booking the cottage the Webb site did not tell you that the pool facility had to be paid separately and there was a limited time frame
Beautiful property, very well equipped, great facilities. We loved feeding the pigs and collecting fresh eggs. A great time was had by the whole family.
Kathryn
Sara helped make the most fantastic weekend for our stay! The estate and Corn House are breathtaking, particularly when blessed with perfect weather like we were! All who came for the weekend said that theyre looking forward to booking again soon. Its perfect for families with children, or groups of adults. The spa and swimming pool facilities are the cherry on the top for this wonderful holiday stay. The location is beautiful and serene, with fantastic shops nearby in Much Wenlock or larger supermarkets too in Shrewsbury. Thank you again Sara for a wonderful stay.
Owner was very accommodating, helpful and very friendly
Was the perfect relaxing getaway for new year. The house was cosy, rustic and homely, but with so much space for our larger party. All the on site facilities are fantastic and kids and adults alike loved them. Sara was the perfect host and couldnt do enough for us, made us feel so welcome. We would definitely recommend corn house to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with plenty to do on site and lovely walks in the surrounding area.
Glenice
Magical Christmas holiday for our family of three generations. Very well equipped for cooking a huge Christmas dinner. Kids had a whale of a time in the games rooms and play area. Pigs were a big hit. Only managed to see the glorious setting once when it stopped raining and the mist cleared, but would love to spend time in the summer. Kids never got bored despite the weather so the adults were able to enjoy the comfort and the log burner in relative peace. Adults quite enjoyed the games rooms and play area too!
Carrie
Perfect place for our family preChristmas get together. We were a family ranging for 1 year 65 year old and we couldnt have wished for anything more. Would definitely recommend Corn House to family and friends.
We booked both corn house & the annex next door for a big family break would definitely go back it catered for our every need amazing place. Highly recommend
