Kingfisher Retreat Reviews

George
We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage had everything we needed, was super comfyand easy to use-even my 93-year-old grandma with a bit of mobility trouble felt at home.
Sam
We loved the peaceful vibe here, it's a perfect spot to escape without feeling totally isolated. Exploring the nearby National Trust places and Shrewsbury was a real highlight. Evenings spent walking or playing tennis at the Kingfisher were brilliant - so well kitted out and spacious! The four ensuite bedrooms made everything easier with three adult kids. A couple of small fixes could make it perfect, but overall, we'd come back!
Alex Roberts
We had a lovely stay! The place was really comfortable and in a great spot. The nearby villages have charming pubs and good food. Plus, places like Llangollen and Ellesmere are worth exploring. Any little issues we faced were sorted out swiftly by the owners. Definitely recommend!
Chloe
What a beautiful place! It's perfect for a peaceful trip and there's loads to keep the kids entertained! Our only issue was the WiFi, so we'd suggest downloading some things for the little ones beforehand. The restaurant nearby was incredible; we didn't have one bad meal! We only interacted with the owners once, but they were truly amazing, really kind and helpful. We can't wait to come back next year!
Claire
We had a lovely weekend celebrating with three generations! The lodge was a good size for eight people, featuring decking, a BBQand a nice seated area. The kids really loved the play area. The location was perfect for strolling into the village. A few parts of the lodge seemed a bit tired and could do with an upgrade, like the large rug in the lounge. The low-backed sofas are attractive, but not the best for two people with bad backs. Also, with eight of us, we reckon a further undercounter fridge in the utility room would be helpful!
Oliver
Really good spot to stay, not far from shops and things to do. Perfect place to just unwind!
Emma
