Small Lane Cottage Reviews

Stella
The 7 ladies Aunties & cousins that visited Small lane Cottage, loved it. So much so, we could have stayed the week. Everything was perfect. Stunning views, lovely hot tub. So peaceful. Great bedsbedding. It had everything and more of what we needed. Would highly recommend. Liz was lovely too x
A fantastic property, with great facilities, all of which were at the highest standard. Liz could not do more to help and offered a great service, asking questions about the extras we may want I requested a travel cot, and then noting this, Liz asked if we needed a highchair and the stairgates, which is going above and beyond and the room configuration which we wanted.
Luxurious property in a fabulous rural setting with outstanding countryside views. Eight of us had a great time celebrating a big birthday. I could easily live there! Good communication from the owners. Highly recommended.
The cottage is AMAZING. We walked in and went wow. Everything you could need was there hot tub towels, bath and hand towels, tea towers kitchen towel Kitchen roll. There was even a little welcome pack with eggs, milk, tea bags etc. The bedrooms were all big no need to fight over which one you had and had plenty of storage and with three bathrooms you were spoilt for choice. We were there for New Year and although it was cold outside it was perfect in the cottage. Everything was high spec. My favourite place was the landing with two chairs every morning I would make a cuppa and sit and relax. The hot tub was ready from the minute we got there and in a perfectly private position. Games room so much to do in here. Darts board with darts, full size snooker table with lots of cues and rests. Table football, tv and table tennis. There was even a bar table and chairs for those wanting to watch. It is little colder in there but there are heaters for you to use. It is a very quiet and remote location but close enough to get to pubs, walks, restaurants and a town centre but you will need a car if you want to get around. We could not fault anything and would not hesitate to go back. If you are looking at booking Small Lane Cottage then get it booked you will not be disappointed
Liz was absolutely wonderful and very kind and accommodating for our Hen do weekend! Small Lane cottage is even more impressive in person! Everything is done to a high standard with a homely feel to it, the cottage is so cosy and well equipped ! And the views are so beautiful ! We and the best time here and we would love to go back one day ! Thanks for having us and looking after us so well. We highly recommend your beautiful home to anyone wanting a countryside get away in style!
We stayed as a group of seven women, who are lifelong friends. The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and perfect for us. I had contacted Liz prior to us arriving, to sort out splitting some beds, and this was done
The venue was so much more than expected. Felt so welcoming from the moment we entered. The facilities provided more than expected it made our break one we will never forget. I rarely stay at the same place twice but already hoping to bock again as soon as possible only downside was having to go home.

We spent a week at Small Lane Cottage, the house, furnishings, facilities and surroundings are fantastic. We enjoyed the hot tub and games barn.
Lesley
Small Lane Cottage was beautiful, full of high end fixtures and fittings. Beds were so comfortable, that it was a struggle to get out of them . Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stunning views was my highlight. Liz was an absolute fantastic hostess, and I highly recommend you visit this beautiful cottage. Would love to come back as a weekend wasnt long enough.
Excellant accommodation. As we were all over 80 it was disappointing that it indicated we should strip the beds before leaving, left a bad taste as the last thing we did.
We had a Wonderful stay at Small lane cottage, Liz was so helpful with information about the local area. It was a Beautiful cottage, we will return & would recommend this cottage to family & friends thank you
We had a fantastic 10 days at Small Lane Cottage, it was exactly as described and photographed. Very well equipped and comfortable, hot tub checked daily. Liz was very friendly and helpful, kept us informed and asked us if we needed any more towels. Kitchen had everything you would need, a true home from home. You can tell they had really thought about it. The fixtures and fittings were modern and luxury which is what made us book in the first place, much better than your usual holiday rental. We enjoyed how quiet it was and peaceful. Having the electric charger was so handy due to having 2 electric cars with us.
Superb property, very comfortably equipped with top quality appliances. Highly recommend
Kathryn
Small Lane Cottage is amazing! Absolutely everything has been thought of and if you did find you needed something Liz and Reuban are so accommodating you won't be without it for long! We went with our daughter, son in law and their 2 boys aged 5 and 3 and they loved it too especially when the cows were looking over the back wall at us in the hot tub! Would 100 recommend and would go back without a doubt, thank you Liz, Reuban,Harvey and Lily for a lovely stay x

Our second time here and we will definitely be back. Property and location amazing! Literally everything you may need. Property was immaculate inside and out. You can do as much or as little as you like, with some wonderful walks and stunning scenery and beautiful pubs at the end. Had a lovely day at Trentham Monkey Forest with the family, which was easy to find and not too far. We all enjoyed the hot tub frequently which was well maintained during our stay and so pretty at nightfall with the lights. Lots of added touches that make this holiday cottage the best by far.

Fabulous cottage, beautiful and tasteful decor and interiors. Very good quality of finish for appliances and furniture. Everything you could possibly need was available washing lineclothes pegs, iron and ironing board, washing podsdishwater tabletswashing up liquid, cling film, tin foil A measure for alcoholcocktails the list goes on. Was not one thing I thought I wish there was???? Clearly a lot of thought, time and money has been invested. It was perfect. Only 2 thing Id change mini clothes drier to a full size one, never enough space with family of 7. Duvet to a summer duvetor just a top sheet we were there during a mini heatwave. The hot tub was the place to be even when it was sweltering in the sunshine. Hot tub checked everyday. Welcome basket was perfect. Throughly recommended the cottage. House was immaculate inside and out. Tranquil setting with beautiful views. Liz was prompt in reply to any text. Fab holiday.
A perfect cottage in a beautiful location spotless and very well equipped. Hop tub is the icing on the cake.
Elizabeth

Louisa
Everything in the cottage was in excellent condition, the cleanliness and level of equipment was superb Good to be where a hot tub is seen to be being checked and maintained. . The standard of everything was very high, and very well thought through. A lovely cottage and stay, in all respects
Samuel
A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Very well equipped and spotless . Would recommend small lane cottage to anyone especially if you like peace and tranquillity. Hopefully we will be back one day .
We had a great stay at Small Lane Cottage. The cottage is absolutely stunning both inside and out, and a lot of thought and time has gone into making it so perfect. Everything you need is within the cottage. The cottage has the highest end appliances, which are easy to use, and very accessible. Loved the addition of random books and games within, and the games room was a real touch. Liz and Reuben, and even their children are so welcoming and kind. We met Liz on the day of arrival and she was so friendly and warming. Liz and Reuben were kind enough to invite us over to their farm their cows are very welcoming neighbours and a real delightful to have at the end of the garden whilst at the farm, we got to see the new additions of the farm, and the milking process. Very good. Would absolutely recommend this cottage for both the quality of the cottage, and how friendly Liz and her family are. The area is very nice and peaceful, occasional moo'ing, which is just wonderful. Supermarket within a 10 minute drive, plenty of local walks nearby, and pubs within a short driving distance. I hope to return to this cottage in the near future. Thank you again, Liz and family!
What an amazing week we've had with the family at small cottage The weather was fantastic and the cottage is beautifully furnished to a high standard, with everything you could need in the kitchen. Comfy beds and high quality bathrooms. Stunning views across the hills towards the Roaches which can be enjoyed from the garden and hot tub. And for those with a competitive nature you can enjoy snooker, pool, table tenis, darts in the games room. We enjoyed Alton towers, The Roaches, Luds Church Three shires head, Shutlingsloe all within easy reach of the cottage. I would highly recommend.
What a beautiful cottage. High quality decor and very well maintained. Comfy bed and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome basket which was an unexpected surprise. Fab games room which was great fun! Would 100 recommend this beautiful cottage.
Stuart

Beautiful cottage and garden. We had a fantastic stay and the owner was incredibly helpful when we needed anything. Would recommend for a nice long weekend away.
Thank you. We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. Everything was great. Beautiful decoration, comfy beds, plenty of utensils, loads of seating, really clean, very private. Really quick response to texts when needed. We will definitely be back.
A wonderful find, beautifully furnished and fittings are top quality throughout. Photos on the advert don't do the property justice, everything hosted superbly well by Liz. all information is 100 spot on, from booking to joining through to leaving. Very private location and a joy to stay here. If you're looking to simply chill in lovely surroundings, you will not be disappointed.
Small lane cottage is a fabulous house. It is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The hot tub is a absolute bonus! The children loved the visit to the farm. Thank you again, Lizz. The welcome pack and the Christmas crackers were very much appreciated.
We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas break. The cottage is stunning....beautifully designed and laid out with everything you could need. The beds and sofas are comfy, the rooms are immaculate and everything has been thought about. The hot tub and the games room were great for entertainment for all ages! We would come back in a heartbeat!
It was a pity that all rooms were not provided with ensuite facilities.
Host was amazing! Cottage was absolutely stunning! I would absolutely recommend a stay at this amazing place. Everything had been thought of to ensure we felt welcomed and enjoyed a break with our family. Thank you to Liz and her husband who cleared the snow from the drive!.

The property was absolutely stunning! ! The owners have done an amazing job at creating a lovely place to stay with everything you need. We honestly didn't want to come back home, it was so peaceful and the scenery beautiful. Definitely looking forward to coming back again soon.
What a wonderful place, beautifully kept lovely space. We stayed for a week over October half term, weather was very varied which meant the views out the windows of the countryside changed everytime you looked out. The grandparents loved the peace and the location, the kids loved the facilities and the games room. Location of the property is fantastic making you feel like your in your on private farmland but still soo close to loads of things to do. Everything inside the property was exactly as stated and photographed in the listing and very clean, property owners super helpful and accommodating, would definitely come back. Thanks so much.
We had an amazing stay at this 4bedroom house! The space was incredibly comfortable and perfect for our group. Each bedroom was spacious, clean, and wellfurnished, making us feel right at home. The highlight was definitely the hot tubsuch a relaxing treat after long days exploring the area! We also loved the games room, especially the snooker table, which kept everyone entertained for hours. The kitchen was wellequipped, and the large living area was great for everyone to gather. The outdoor space was lovely, with the hot tub being the perfect spot to unwind. A special shoutout to our host, Liz, who was fantasticsuper helpful and responsive, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this place for families or groups looking for a cozy getaway with plenty to do!

An absolutely gorgeous cottage so well equipped and Liz is such a great host . This cottage really is home from home, spotlessly clean, very tastefully decorated and everything you could possibly need provided for an amazing stay. I would highly recommend Small Lane Cottage we will be returning !
Wow, what a property. Having stayed in many holiday cottages throughout the UK this is the best that we have stayed in. The cottage is immaculate, the views are outstanding and far reaching and the facilities including a private hot tub and a large games room are incredible for a family holiday. To wake up every morning with just the sound of the wildlife whilst looking at the views and pondering the day ahead was wonderful. Great location as well, in the countryside but with town & city facilities a short drive away. Liz was a brilliant host with great communication

Alton Towers - ST10 4DB

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
British Wildlife Rescue Centre - TN8 7AR
about 18 Miles
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Peak District National Park -
about 20 Miles
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 22 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ
about 22 Miles
Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 23 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 25 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
Denby Visitor Centre - DE5 8NX

When you are in need of a rest head for the The Hungry Shepherd Tea Room where you can enjoy a bite to eat and children can burn even more energy in the indoor play area.
