25 Thirlmere Reviews

Brilliant stay at 25 Thirlmere! The lodge is beautiful and modern with plenty of space. Its private setting was perfect for us as we preferred the hot tub area not being on show to everyone, like some of the other lodges are. We found the beds comfy and all the appliances great. The only tiny recommendation would be that the toaster isnt great, a new one might be on the cards. Otherwise I cant fault the stay. We would definitely return. Thanks for a lovely weekend.
This is a lovely cabin. The kitchen is modern and wellequipped. The property was cleaned to a high standard on arrival. Beds are all comfortable, and there is plenty of storage for clothes. The hot tub is great and situated in a secluded location.
This was a very disappointing experience and not what we expect from holiday accommodation. We treated the property with respect and left it clean and tidy, yet after our stay the owner attempted to withhold our 200 deposit over issues that were either preexisting or unreasonable. These included alleged damage to a bathroom cabinet door that was already broken on arrival we had timestamped photos, minimal pet hair despite dogs being declared and permitted, and used white bedding in a woodland cabin during wet December weather. We are usually very happy customers and regularly stay at Buttercup in Wales, which is immaculate, well managed, and does not require a deposit. On this occasion we decided to try somewhere different, and unfortunately that was a mistake. The way this was handled after departure caused unnecessary stress and completely overshadowed what should have been a relaxing break. Based on our experience, we would not return to this property.
Had a lovely stay. Best thing for me was the stream outside the bedroom window huge selling point. Lovely to lay on the bed listening to the river. Lovely and clean inside unfortunately had to spend first half hour sweeping the deck outside. Worst thing was the WiFi. Had some work to do almost impossible. Have already recommended

On first impressions the lodge is stunning. However, there were a couple of little things that could have been maintained before a guests arrival. Nothing major, just a few things that looked a little tatty, and made us worry that we could get the blame and lose our good housekeeping deposit. So, this led to us taking photos so that we had time stamps. The lodge is spacious and a fantastic location. Super private, especially for the location of the hottub. The en suite facility in the main bedroom was a lovely bonus. The open plan living area made for a lovely family experience and enabled us to hang out together. Overall a super holiday in a super location.
Had an amazing time staying at this lovely lodge. Beautiful decor and was well equipped with everything we needed. Plenty of room for our family of 6. Fantastic location on the site as it is tucked away so didnt have anyone walking past. The hot tub was a great addition as well.
Omg from the minute we walked into the lodge we was overwhelmed with how beautiful and stunning the property was x so clean and modern that we fell in love with it it. Everything was there in the property that was needed. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen to relaxing in the hot tub. Will definitely recommend and will definitely book here again. Thank you

Lovely place, hot tub was a great addition after a days hike! Comfy, well stocked and everything we need for a family of four for 1 week
We had a lovely weekend break at 25 Thirlmere lodge. It was very peaceful and private and only a short walk to the lake, lots to do around the area. We would definitely visit again.
Well equipped, clean and comfortable lodge. However due to a power cut we had no power for 18 hours. The hot tub then took a further 8 hours to warm back up so could not be used. Despite raising the issue with Sykes, the owner and Park Dean, no one would take ownership of my complaint or offer the compensation the power supplier advise is payable and I could not claim myself. Deeply disappointed considering the cost of the accommodation for 3 nights. Be aware when booking via an agent for a private owner on another companies site, I wont do this again!
Lovely property with great hot tub! Great communication from the owner too. Would definitely recommend and may well book another stay. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at 25 Thirlmere a very homely and stylish lodge. Everything was spotless and the kitchen had everything we needed. The park is in a great location by the lake with easy access by bus to the local towns. Would definitely return!
Stayed at White Cross Bay many times in different Accomodation this was the best. The lodge was beautifully decorated and very bright and airy feel. Great spot on the park tucked away private and quiet but only a few minutes stroll to the lakeside moorings area. Everything was provided including towels for use in lodge, kitchen equipment and cleaning equipment. WiFi was good even with five people using it simultaneously. Smart TV in lodge has all the apps Netflix Disney Prime etc etc just bee to use your own login. The lodge is a credit to the owners. Last thing the hot tub perfect temp and very relaxing after long dog walks. We would definitely recommend this lodge.

A beautifully spacious lodge with lovely decor and good quality mattresses. We felt the kitchen could be better equipped for example there was no cheese grater which is something we needed to assist with a dish we were cooking. We found there to be lack of cupboard space for storing food also. Ensuite bathroom floor felt as though it was going to fall through. The showers were like warm at best there was instruction that were werent to alter the boiler settings, I found showering unpleasant at that temperature. No hairdryer it wouldve been handy for this to be stated. Weve stayed in three other lodges on this site and all had a hairdryer. I will be packing one in future so were not caught out again. In the rules it states that no glasses are to be used in the hot tub, plastic only, however no plastic cups were provided in the lodge. General cleanliness was ok however it was very dusty in places. We felt the refund of the housekeeping deposit couldve been quicker. The owner stated up to 7 days to refund via bank transfer so we fully expected it back before 7 days as I would have thought the lodge wouldve been inspected after we departed. On the 7th day I emailed the owner requesting it back. Overall a really nice lodge and we did enjoy our stay.

Beautiful lodge, comfy beds, hot showers, spotlessly clean. Perfect layout for our family of 6, plenty of room inside and nice big decking area and hot tub outside. We enjoyed all the facilities and the lodge is well located for a stroll to the lake or around the park. We loved our stay here , highly recommend.
Brilliant property very clean & well equipped in peaceful location on site. Also 5 minutes walk to lake side so great for the dog!
Was excellent, really spacious and beautifully presented. The lodge was as private with trees to the side, whereas others in the park werent as private. Was decorated really nicely and the parksurrounding areas were lovely. Close to Windermere and Ambleside

Parking was much too tight for my car , had to park out on the carpark . Had a disabled person with us so the amount of steps were difficult . Last year I stayed at Damson lodge which was very easy . We didnt arrive until night . It took 45 mins to find our lodge as it was pitch black . Some better signs that were lit would have been very helpful .Apart from that everything was fine . It would be an idea of having electric car charging points that people can book for the duration of the stay . Also the hot tub needs maintenance . It is quite old and the jets only occasionally worked , when pressing the button for the jets it was intermittent making a grinding noise . I deliberately ordered a lodge with a tub as I get a lot of use from them. However we could only use it occasionally. It was very frustrating . I think it needs replacing, and a refund of the extra cost of the hot tub should be reimbursed as there was no way of using it to its full ability . However most of the lodge was very clean . We had a problem with duvet covers . There were a lot of fine blackbrown hairs on the duvet covers . We had to use a lint roller to remove them . However apart from that everything else was lovely . We have had a lovely stay . I have been to your park four times now and love the area .
Exceeded our expectations. We honestly couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Comfortable beds, kitchen with all you need, spacious living area and a hot tub to top it off. One small issue which was resolved by the owner within 5 minutes. A

This is a fantastic property, we really enjoyed our stay. It is tucked away and private, very clean and well stocked, lovely decor, comfortable and a stones throw from the lake. We could not have asked for more, I can highly recommend this property.

Lovely accommodation, as mentioned it could do with a boot or shoe box outside and some rubber floor mat or similar inside to prevent it getting messy, we used a boot liner from the car and it worked for us. Could do with some updated utensils in the kitchen as we cooked in a lot and found them flimsy and some essentials missing. Hot tub was lovely after a wet day walking. Nice and clean inside and very comfy.

Had a fantastic holiday at 25 Thirlmere. A beautiful place to stay, clean, modern and very comfortable. Would definitely return. Thank you
The property was very thing we hoped for.
Angela
Property was well proportioned, very clean and well presented. Had everything we needed. Somewhere to put shoes and coats would have been an improvement & the WiFi was not Good.Bit a minor detail of an otherwise enjoyable stay.
We have had a wonderful stay. Our first holiday up north with our baby and dog. The accommodation was perfect, so cosy especially when the temperature dropped outside. The property is well maintained to a high standard. The furnishings are lovely and modern. More than enough storage space for families. The hot tub was a lovely added bonus to relax in after a day of walking and admiring the views. We normally visit Cornwall as we have family there, but we have now been converted to be regular visitors to the Lakes. We would definitely come back and stay here in this property, as we are keen to visit some time in the springsummer months. Thank you for providing such lovely accommodation. We hope to come back soon!

Exceeded expectations
Lovely premises, very clean and comfortable with everything you need, a real home from home.
Michaela
We had a comfortable stay at 25 Thirlmere. Lovely well equipped modern kitchen and great hot tub. Bedrooms were great with plenty of room for clothes. The only suggestion would be to have a coat rack or stand to hang outerwear and a shoe rack for shoes. Maybe hooks outside for wetsuits, towels etc.
Kirsty
If I had any complaints it would be the park it self is poorly sign posted it ... If I had any complaints it would be the park it self is poorly sign posted it took us 40 to find our lodge we were staying in in the rain
Absolutely delightful Lodge. Immaculate and clean. A very high standard of accommodation. Very cosy in the winter. Less than a minutes walk to the waters edge of Lake Windermere. I had a wonderful winter break, despite the below zero temperatures. Excellent communication with Angela the owner who was outstanding!

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
