Beck Head Tarn Reviews

Emma
Beck Head really impressed us! Super cosy inside, spotless everywhereand a peaceful spot to relax. We loved it and honestly, anyone staying here won't be let down.
James
Fantastic stay, highly recommend it
Claire
Not the best experience, quite pricey and the cleanliness could definitely be better.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is stunning, with plenty of dramatic views and waterfalls, plus some lovely circular walks. The outdoor seating was so peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The cabin itself was warm, comfyand well-equipped, with a smart TV and sound system to enjoy. The WiFi worked well, even if the phone signal was a bit patchy. Only minor thing was the rules about dogs-had to be exercised outside and no pets in bedrooms, which was a bit strict but understandable.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cabin. It’s nestled in a peaceful spot on the site, perfect for relaxing. We booked last minute, just two days before arrivaland the process was a bit of a hassle with some checking and follow-up calls needed. Still, once sorted, everything went smoothly. The cabin itself is cosy and quiet, ideal if you’re after a calm getaway. We’d definitely recommend it, despite the initial booking hiccups. It’s a great little find!
Emma
The cabin’s setting is stunning, right in the heart of everything. We loved how easy it was to explore the Lake District from there. Honestly, can’t recommend it enough!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was comfy and perfect for exploring the lakes. It’s so tranquil, with lovely bird song that made mornings special. Great spot for local walks, we loved it!
Emma
Really great spot! It’s cosy for two, maybe three if you’re tight. Easy walk from the base and fantastic value. Definitely recommend booking-won't disappoint!
Oliver
The spot was perfect, really loved the vibe of the place. The cabin was spotless and ready for us to settle in right away. The welcome pack with chocolates, cookiesand coffee was a nice touch. We had a great stay overall!
Emma Carter
Really enjoyed our stay here! The lodge was comfy and had all we needed. Perfectly located in the lakes, making exploring easy. We’d happily come back - loved it!
Alex Turner
We were pretty disappointed with the lodge. It smelled damp and mouldy, especially in the shower tray, which isn’t what you'd hope for the hefty price we paid. Still, the stunning views and great location for walks made up for it a bit.
Emily
We had a lovely stay here with our dog. The place had everything we needed and the views were beautiful, especially in winter. The pool wasn’t open, which was a bit disappointing, but it’s more suited for kids anyway. We enjoyed exploring the nearby villages and some great walks around. We didn’t go to the pub, but it’s within walking distance, which is handy. Overall, a relaxing break!
Emma Carter
We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was cosy and super comfortable, perfect for relaxing after days exploring. Its location made it easy to visit Ambleside, Wray Castleand Stock Gyll Force without hassle. Browns-on-Windermere was charming with fab food and shops. Coming back to a peaceful, quiet spot was just what we needed. Can't wait to return next summer for some paddling and more adventures. Highly recommend!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this cosy lodge, even with the November rain! The view from the lounge and main bedroom was stunning. Sadly, no deer or squirrels, just a horse passing by. The place was spotless, well-stockedand felt super comfy. Perfect for walks right outside-definitely recommend!
Emma
Loved staying here! The location is fantastic, with lovely walks just outside. The place was spotless and comfy, plus we enjoyed watching red squirrels right from the sofa - brilliant! Would definitely return.
Emma Collins
Beautiful place, loved the peaceful vibe.
Laura
Lovely spot, would stay again
Emma Clarke
The cabin was lovely, perfectly situated in a peaceful spot. Everything we needed was thereand it was so relaxing. The only downside was the weather-rain all week, so we couldn’t enjoy the patio!
James
The cabin was a bit tired and could do with a refresh, especially the outside space which needed some tidying. But the location is fantastic for exploringand the local pub was really handy and friendly. We'd definitely return to this lovely area!
James
We absolutely loved our stay! The location is perfect - just a few miles from Ambleside and Windermere. Watching the deer wander onto the patio was magical. The cabin had all we neededand the pool and sauna were real treats. We’ll be back!

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 2 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 19 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 19 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 24 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
