Daisy Cottage Reviews

Very nice place to visit definitely recommend to others had everything for us
Overall was a really nice stay , nice modern place with hot tub , will happily stay again
Daisy cottage is a lovely clean cottage with everything you need for a perfectly peaceful holiday, the hot tub is amazing and very nice to relax in after a day sight seeing in the lakes. The kitchen is well stock with cutlery and crockery and glasses etc and everything else if you want to cook homemade food like we did. I would highly recommend this cottage. A lot of review say and the position of the cctv above the hot tub but to be honest it didnt bother us in the slightest and we just relaxed and took no notice of it really. I would give this cottage 1010.

Mine and my partners experience was amazing we was so sad to have to leave and come home daisy cottage is beautiful everything about it is definitely a win win and the Location is brilliant in all honesty I cant fault not one thing I actually really miss been there I would personally highly recommend daisy cottage we will for sure be returning I love it
Really nice stay a Daisy cottage , clean , description accurate and a lovely location , only couple of things the hot tub has a security camera right above facing the hot tub thought was a little strange And check out was at 10am the hot tub guy was there at 8. 30 doing a clean down could of waited until check out .. but overall great cottage great location everything you could need for a little break away .
Gregory
Great cottage and was such a lovely break away nice and quiet and really cosy. Thank you loads we will book again soon!
A lovely cottage, perfect size for two. A bath tub in the bedroom was a lovely addition and grate views too. Easy access to the Lake District National Park and plenty to do near by. Would like to see information for recycling in the property. No instructions or separate bins.

Hi first I would like to say bathroom floor tiles is cracking and tiles is sharp not safely, floor grout missing, and better cleaning. Cottage house is on the main road so you can hear everything in night time.
This was a fantastic stay for a couple's retreat. The surrounding area is tranquil with a nice walk to the beach. It's only a 20 min drive away to all that the Lakes has to offer, we loved it and would definitely come back soon!
The location and design was just what we looking for ,however we did encounter some problems all local contact numbers were out of date thankfully we arrived early and was able reach sykes to report the cottage had not been cleaned nor prepared for us . This matter was promptly resolved.seemingly there were outstanding maintenance issues from previous reviews but what impacted on us greatly was the excessive use of cctv cameras including directly above the hotub ! this was very alarming and we would not of booked had we been aware of this gross invasion of our privacy , we were advised cctv was not monitored ,which begs the question why was it there at all ?
Caroline
Lovely property. Fantastic views from the front. Really good location for visiting the lakes. Very clean and well equipped with lots of crockery, cutlery and cooking pans. Lovely bath with great views. The property is advertised as having a DVD player but it doesnt ? Oven door still not been repaired despite several comments from previous guests. CCTV camera over the hot tub is very invasive. Sofa is very low and difficult to get up from.

The place was perfect . Loved the bath and the jacuzzi and the huge windows onto the field
Our stay at Daisy Cottage over a number of days was lovely. We have stayed in a number of various selfcatering properties over the years, and whilst this stay was enjoyable I would highly recommend that the owners check the feedback on this website and the guest book, as there are a number of items that still haven't been addressed. These include 1 Bathroom door not shutting the catch in the door is stuck. 2 Velux window not shutting fully upstairs we had a look at this, and it appears to be one of the catcheslocking mechanisms and therefore you hear a lot of traffic at nightearly mornings. 3 Water marks on the walls everywhere on the top floor and stairwell it looks like this was caused due to a previous leak which was resolved, but the walls were never repainted. 4 CCTV cameras above the hot tub and at the front of the property the irony is that there is a link on Sykes Cottages website about how CCTV should be disclosed to guests it is NOT in the listing httpswww.sykescottages.co.ukblogholidayletsecurityguide. 5 No hairdryer. 6 No bath mat we had to use a towel. 7 Check in too late 23pm would have been better. 8 No blindcurtain on the window on the stairs. The hot tub was lovely, apart from one of the jets not working. The kitchen and downstairs area is well equipped. We would return again, if the issues above were resolved.
5pm check in too late, issue with water damage to walls telephone number in Daisy cottage handbook wrong, attention to detail needed and some tlc around the cottage would be good too.

We enjoyed our stay at Daisy Cottage. It was very clean and ideal for 2 people. The bed was comfy, and we slept really well, bath tub and shower were good, Kitchen is well stocked and the cottage was very warm and cosy. We wanted a quiet place and that is exactly what we got There were however some issues which we didnt like There is a camera outside above the hot tub. We still used it however we were very aware of being spied on potentially. There is no mention of this in the description, despite it being mentioned in the guest book at the cottage. The sofa is comfy but far too low so this was an issue for me. When we arrived the toilet roll had nearly finished luckily we bought our own, as there are no shops within walking distance. Bathroom door did not close properly so we used the small fire extinguisher to keep is closed when in use. No bathshower mat however this was rectified when we called and additional towels were delivered 2 days later, still no bath mat so we used a towel. There was obviously a water leak at the cottage as there were water marks on the wall as you went upstairs and on the bedroom wall, which wasnt nice to look at. I would recommend the owners look at the feedback in the guest book. The camera is really off putting and had we had known that we would not have booked the cottage, or an explanation as to why its there would have been appreciated Its a lovely cottage just a few tweaks would have made it perfect.
Lovely property. Only issue mattress too soft for my tastes.
Brilliant little cottage only one bad thing rang up to see if someone could call ... Brilliant little cottage only one bad thing rang up to see if someone could call and fix tv upstairs on the Tuesday and when we left on the Sunday no one had bothered to turn up
Really lovely cottage in a nice area. Beautiful room with amazing bath and views. Only negative part was that the oven didn't work and the hot tub was cold for the first night and couldn't get in contact to resolve issue until the next day. Other than that it was a great experience and would definitely return. Thank you!
Great long weekend at Daisy Cottage. Lovely location on the coast road, with easy access to Lakes attractions and good selection of local pubsrestaurants. Hot tub was a great addition. Underfloor heating needed given the snow and hail but took a while to get going. Lovely and warm once it did. Comfortable bedroom and spacious living area. Couple of snags with facilities that could be rectified but wouldnt stop us from returning bathroom door handle loose and came off, too oven door came undone on one side and bedroom TV didnt work. Upstairs walls looked like wallpaper paste has been meltingrunning. Overall a lovely little place in a good area with some nice touches just a couple of details need attention
Really lovely cottage. Very comfortable, excellent facilities. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. We would gladly stay again and have recommended the property to our friends and family if they plan a break in the area. When we arrived the heating was quite overpowering. Nice to get out of the cold, but we had to turn it down significantly to make it comfortable.
Corinne
Excellent location. Very comfortable and had everything you needed! Would definitely recommend

Lovely house with beautiful views. Highly recommend
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We loved to see the sea each morning! It was a lovely cosy property and well equipped. The only way to improve for us would be a welcome basket. We would love to come back and really enjoyed it! Thank you for having us.
Great cottage great views very clean everything except sofa was fantastic the ... Great cottage great views very clean everything except sofa was fantastic the reason I mentioned sofa is its too low for elderly people like me couldn't get up easily but everything else was 1st class
Cottage and facilities were spot on, my only recommendation would be that you supply a electric fan, the bedroom was like a oven every night. We couldn't open the windows has the building would be infested by flies which was another problem. Apart from that, it was lovely
Charles
Lovely place a little bit of noise from the road could do with a fan in the bedroom as it gets hot especially with this warm weather but would book again.
Michelle
Had a lovely stay at Daisy cottage, the only negative is that it is very remote nothing in walking distance so always had to use the car.
Hot tub , hob ,TV upstairs not working but once reported was sorted so all good , cottage had all needed for stay , bed comfy , very peaceful and great base for seeing all the sights . Great for a relaxing time especially the hot tub.Only thing would be could use a blind on stair window as sun shone through early in morning .,definitely will be back though as had a lovely stay here .
Great stay but a blind on the window on the stairs is needed as the bedroom gets very light very early.
Jasmin
We have just returned from our week at the daisy cottage. It was an lovely stay the cottage views are amazing the cottage had everything that we needed for the week even a washing machine so we didnt have a mountain of washing to get through when we got home . The cottage is a short walk away from the beach you walk across the road and through a field and then a second field then through a gate then youre on the beach. Lots of lovely walks local to the area or you can drive for an hour and you get even more stunning views . The gentleman who upkeeps the cottage was very friendly and told us where to go for walks and cleaned our hot tub midway through our stay . We would 100 return we are already looking at dates for September if there is availability they get booked up very quickly . Jaz. And Dan

We stayed at Daisy cottage for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The cottage was clean, the hot tub was amazing, the location for us was perfect! There is a beach in front and farmers fields behind, we felt nice and isolated If you drive 20 minutes up the road there is a beautiful village called Ulverston The cottage itself also had everything we needed for cooking which was a bonus We will definitely be staying here again!
The cottage is very nice. Bed comfy. The comments about the sofa being low from other reviews i think is very extreme. I can only see this being an issue if you actually had a problem with your knees. We had no issues with it.
This cottage is perfect for a little getaway! ! We loved our stay here, it had absolutely everything we needed including lots of information provided about the area eg good places to eat, good walks to do etc. The cottage is so homely and the hot tub is a great bonus! Perfect location, very easy key collection and checkout, bed was really comfy and the bath was amazing! 1010 couldnt fault it.
We loved our stay at Daisy cottage its nicely positioned to feel remote but close enough to explore the Lake District. The cottage itself is modern and has everything you need for two. ZWe would happily moved in for good!Thehot tub was fab and we had no issue. I would replace the sofa as it is too low and I have no mobility issues. The throw on the bed should be replaced each bookingwe put that in the cupboard would stay againthe vast beach across the field opposite is just amazing!

On arrival the first thing we did was was check the hot tub as that is the reason for booking daisy cottage. .the hot tub! It was freezing cold. I tried ringing the contact person twice and got no response so I sent a text message and didnt receive a reply for over two hours! He said he would be out first thing the next morning to look at it and also said that we could put the outside tap on with the hose attached and keep hold of it in the hot tub, let it overflow till desired temperature was reached but it was far too late by the time he replied so we decided to try this the next day which was an absolute disaster! The pipe was so short and kept flying off the tap. We were extremely disappointed. It was 1130 before anyone turned up the next morning and he didnt seem very interested and said it needed a part and would be back..hours later it still wasnt working so I contacted the person again asking if they knew what time it would be fixed and he said hed come out at 530 as they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. He came out and got it working but by this point wed had two days without it and was only there for three days. I would really appreciate it if somebody could get back to me and take this seriously.
Short break between Motor Bike Rallies and to treat my wife for her birthday. The property was truly wonderful. Lovely sunrises through the massive Triangular window in to the Bedroom. The double bath was used by my wife as a good pampering. We used the hot tube twice and enjoyed it after long exploring rides through the Lake District. The cottage information booklet was very useful providing valuable information and suggested local walks, a really nice touch.
The cottage is a beautiful cottage, however, as soon as we walked through the door the smell of wet dog knocked us back. My partner is allergic to cats and on the first night had very itchy runny eyes and was constantly sneezing luckily we had taken some allergy tablets with us the smell was so bad that when we went to get our shopping in we brought a bottle of fabreeze to try and eliminate it. It did not eliminate it but made it more bearable until we went out and came back in again and it hit you again. Also one of the pillows on the bed was misshapen and as there were no spares had to use it. I dont know how someone that goes into clean the cottage doesn't smell the smell or dodnt notice the pillow when changing the bed as it is twisted. Like I said as I started the review the cottage itself I'd beautiful in a lovely location and the things above were such a shame as they are such an easy fix to sort out. Because of the smell and allergic reaction my partner had whilst there we would not return to daisy cottage which is a shame as if it wasmt for that we would definitely of rebooked to go again.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 10 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
