We have stayed in numerous lodges on this site and this has been the best by far. Spacious and very clean with all the amenities you need for a short or longer stay. The hot tub was perfect the temp and very clean which also looked out on to the lake. Fabulous stay and cant wait to book back for next year. Thank you.

Very well appointed lodge. We were truly pleased to be there and enjoyed all facilities. The standard of maintenance is very high and I think it's the best lodge we have had the pleasure of staying in. Massive thanks from whole family

A beautiful property located close to Lake Windermere. Attention to detail inside was amazing, kitchen was catered with everything we needed and more, lodge was spotless and loved the extra Easter touches. Excellent WiFi which is a bonus in this kind of location. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Weve just come home after a week long stay at Dovedale Lodge. Its a lovely place to have as our base, with the lake just meters away. Inside the lodge catered for everything we needed and the hot tub was fantastic too. Everything exactly as promised, thank you for a lovely stay.
Great property and lovely location
Lovely modern, clean lodge. It had everything we needed to cook evening meals. The hot tub was a great addition. The lodge was in a nice spot near the lake. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely lodge, very spacious and homely. Really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely lodge with a personal touch. Christmas decorations and tree to make it feel like home. Joan, the owner left us a bottle of prosecco and a range of kitchen essentials. She also called to make sure everything was ok! Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much to Joan and team.

The lodge was perfect. Situated on a lovely area of the park with great views of Windermere from the hot tub. The lodge itself was so cosy and clean everything we needed and the gorgeous Christmas decs made it feel so festive and very much appreciated. Great WiFi Made our Christmas 2025 perfect and we were sad to leave! Definitely recommend!

The lodge was just fabulous. It was decorated for Christmas and there was prosecco and treats left for us which was a lovely touch. It was spotlessly clean. The hot tub was just lovely. We have stayed at dozens of hot tub lodges over the years, and this was right up there with the best of them. The location of the park is great right between ambleside and windermere with public transport right outside the park regular buses to grasmere and even keswick or kendal if you want to go further afield.
2nd time we have stayed here and was fantastic. The added bonus of having Starlink for WiFi as at whitecross bay its normally a problem for signal. The ease of being able to put a movie on Netflixs for the kids was great. Lodge was decorated lovely in a Halloween theme and like always the lodge was clean and homely. Have stayed at whitecross bay for a number of years now in different lodges and far this has been the best.
Absolutely lovely and top spec place to stay. Was so clean and comfortable with lots of home comforts and seconds away from the lake and amenities. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous stay in this lovely lodge, had everything we needed and was in a lovely location on the park. Will definitely be booking to stay again in the future!

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
