Kirkbank truly exceeded our expectations! Eskdale Green's stunning scenery made it an ideal spot. The cottage's charm and uniqueness, thanks to Dave and MC, made our stay unforgettable. We're so grateful for the lovely family moments it provided. Honestly, we're already planning to come back. Couldn't recommend it more!

We had a fantastic stay! The house had everything we neededand we really loved the rich history of Kirk Bank. Celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with family was specialand everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting. The garden room was just perfect, though stairs might be tricky for some guests. The BBQ was great for breakfastand my sister enjoyed lighting the fire pit on a chilly morning. The location is ideal for walks, so we left wishing for longer. Thanks a lot, Emily & Steve from London!

We had a lovely stay at Kirkbank in Eskdale. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked and very organised - sharp knives included! The quality was noticeable, especially the comfy beds, nice beddingand the bathrooms. Plus, the interior design had a real artistic touch, which made it feel special.

Our time at Kirkbank was really lovely. The upgrades they've done are tasteful and make the place feel fresh but cosy. There's plenty of space, even with a group of eight. We also enjoyed visiting the Bower House Inn nearby for drinks and food. Honestly, we'd definitely return - it's a great spot for a relaxing getaway!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, which really is a hidden treasure. It's not the cheapest, but everything you need is providedand the facilities are top-notch. The location is perfect for walking or catching the train, making exploring really easy. The village shop and pubs nearby are definitely worth checking out. Our favourite spot was Ravenglass with its cosy tea rooms and pubs - totally recommend visiting by train. We're already planning to return!

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 14 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 18 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 20 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 26 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 28 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
