Squirrels Snug

A really well equipped, clean modern lodge. The double bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had lots of utensils and the very clean. The hot tub was lovely and hot. The site was nice. I would definitely book to go back again.

A lovely little escape a stones throw from lake Windermere. The cabin itself was well equipped with comfy beds and everything you needed to cook. Just a few niggles Toilet brushes in both toilets stank of urine which made the bathrooms consequently stink The bath was full of dark black hairs on our arrival Hot tub lid was a nightmare to get on and off I notice this has been mentioned previously re grab handles The fencing next to the hot tub needs fixing or replacing as its clearly been damaged by previous guests unsafe when you have a toddler in tow!

We loved everything about Squirrels Snug, especially the hot tub! It was very clean, with new comfortable furniture. The guide book and key code were emailed to us in plenty of time. So arriving and finding the lodge with the keys in the keysafe was very smooth! Ideally situated on White Cross Bay, and a nice short walk to the Lake. We had a wonderful relaxing time, and hope to return soon. Many thanks to the owners for letting us share their beautiful Lodge.

My daughter and myself had a great time. She enjoyed the hot tub and i enjoyed relaxing.would recomemend.this site.

The lodge was beautiful and the experience of a hot tub was something different for me personally as never been in one. My new wife we have only been married a week , has been in one but thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing time with the temperature of it being soothing. The lodge itself was a joy, very clean, comfortable , had parking next to it and a calming location. The only thing was it had afternoon sun and was a bit shady in the morning but it was in a great location for exploring the gorgeous scenery of the lake district. We would certainly recommend staying at squirrels snug, for comfort, relaxation, cleanliness, facilities and ideal location for exploring. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to come back some time in the future . Mark and Sharon S.

We had difficulty with our booking, we had to chase the booking company to pay the money as it wasn't taken automatically as agreed. The caravan was fairly clean but the decking hadn't been brushed or cleaned, we had to do that ourselves so we could utilise the hot tub. The frying pan was not usable as the handle was snapped off, there was quite a few plates and bowls with chips out of them, the parasol was broken with one of the arms missing, and can we also recommend that the hot tub lid has some sort of tether attached to the handles to pull the lid back over when not in use, this was really difficult as there is no room down the sides to reach the handles.

We only had 1 problem with this excellent lodge, which was the Jacuzey outside, ... We only had 1 problem with this excellent lodge, which was the Jacuzey outside, on the first night I never had a wink of sleep because the Jacuzey was running all night this was next to the double bed's headboard, this never stopped until 7am in the morning, I called Sykes help desk in Chester who arranged for it to be turned off as we had no intention of using it, we looked for the isolator but could not find it, it turned out to be under the cover to the tale and chairs,

I had an amazing time definitely would come back the only reason why the cleanliness isn't perfect it's because there were a few cups that needed cleaning and the outside table needed a good brush with the Broom because of the leaves and it seemed it hadn't been moved in a while but no one's perfect would definitely come back again

Advert for property did say view of the lake but no view at all. Property was clean and very comfortable and we really enjoyed the stay.

Lovely clean well appointed lodge. Great situation, only downside was the very narrow single beds only suitable for children. Andria

We stayed here before in 2018, was unaware of the new ownership in 2020 but came back to this lodge, everything was pretty much the same if not better, the hot tub is always a bonus! Would recommend this lodge to anyone looking to stay in the Lake District

This was our third stay at White Cross, but our first at Squirrels Snug and we will definitely be returning. The cabin is spacious, well stocked with everything you need and comfortable. We received the guidebook and key code well in advance meaning check in was smooth and fast. The cabin is located in a nice quiet area of the park, not too far from the waterfront. Thanks for a lovely, relaxing stay.

Fantastic lodge, very cozy, comfortable, and with everything you need. We are already looking to return again in the New Year.

We are just back from staying at Squirrels Snug, White cross bay, and would like to raise a complaint. First of all, on arrival we made a complaint as the property had a vile stale drains smell. Complaint was acknowledged and somebody was supposed to attend. This did not happen. On Saturday we had a Customer service call to say is everything resolved. We advised no, and were told somebody would be with us within 30 minutes. NOBODY yet again attended the property. Smell remained and was disgusting, we feel from the ensuite bathroom. Surely your cleaners should have reported this ? This continued all weekend, and nobody attended the property. This is not satisfactory. The accommodation has many cobwebs, the lamp in the twin room was filthy, and down the sides of the curtains also, this is not acceptable standard for a property that costs so much for 3 nights. Sunday morning we woke to no heating or hot water so could not wash, and minus 2 temperatures, After calling several numbers we eventually had a call back and an engineer was sent. He was a very nice man and did fix the problem. However late afternoon we had the same issue, although this time we did have hot water. Security came to support and then the engineer came back to make sure were okay. Also please note, there are bulbs out in the lounge, there is a shower head in the main bathroom that does not fit to anything as it is broken too. Having stayed at various lodges here over the years we were very disappointed with the lack of support, and although when we spoke to someone, they seemed helpful, it was very often not delivered on. We have always been more than satisfied with the cleanliness and never had issues. The vile smell in the lodge was still not fixed when we left this morning, and nobody attended. We spent a small fortune on candles etc to try and mask the smell. Can you please review the issues and advise feedback at your earliest convenience. For a payment of 621 for 3 nights we would expect that this to be spotless and well maintained. We would expect a stress free holiday which this certainly wasnt, and did not expect to spend so much time chasing numbers etc to try and get issues resolved. When on a Sunday morning you are all huddled around the electric fire in the lounge, freezing cold, of course it most definitely ruins your holiday, without the other issues. One additional point, you Market this property as having views across to the marina, this is NOT correct. Look forward to hearing from you.

Really enjoyed our stay at Squirrels Snug very comfortable lodge would definitely recommend.

The lodge was lovely nice quality however, the shower holder in bathroom was broken, broken shelf in fridge. I am assuming if this had been reported before we arrived would have been sorted so we left a note in the lodge to make the owner aware. The main thing however, was around the hot tub which wasnt that hot and the canopy did not work so the area around the tub was very dirty which put us off using the tub as not to drag any dirt into the lodge also the outside table and chairs very dirty needed a pressure washer on the area, the facilities in the lodge ie dishes etc very nice quality and dishwasher very easy to use. Lovely curtains, Very dark in main bedroom obviously because of trees in a shaded area and property was not far from the lake which was nice.

Great place to stay close to the lake and some activities. Hot tub was amazing but had a broken brolly. Could not turn the heating down so we switched radiators off, otherwise we had a great stay. 4pm check in is too late when you have to be out for 10am.

We were really looking forward to our stay and ready for a long over due relaxing few days away! However on arrival hot tub was cold.. this was fine its was quarter past 4 so we thought itll be hot be 7730 again my partner went to check.. still cold! This continued all night so no use of the hot tub as was still 29 degrees at 10pm and thats the curfew for being out of them as well! Very disappointed with the overall experience even hairs in the bath on arrival and stained towels.

Booking was easy, straight forward and timely. All instructions were easy to follow and the accommodation was as advertised, clean and well maintained. I would definitely book to come again.

Loved the stay. Was advertised as having views of the marina but we couldn't see it from any window. The hot tub woke us up through the night. There was a note saying it could be turned off but we really wanted to use it. Other than those small issues the stay was brilliant. The place was very clean and the beds were really comfy. The facilities in the complex were good and the food and drinks were reasonably priced too. We paid 65 for four adults meals and 4 drinks. The TV had Netflix prime and Disney own log in used so there was a movie to watch every night. There was also a few games for you too if you wanted to play. There is plenty to do in the area. We visited Helvellyn, Lakeside motor museum as well as Coniston water which are all a short drive away. All in all a really relaxing holiday.

Lovely lodge, very well equipped, spacious with lots of storage and plentiful hot water. Hot tub was great!!! Fantastic location close to the lake, with easy access for touring around. Wifi was a bit hit and miss. Well stocked small shop on sight Had a great break.

Absolutely beautiful cabin. Clean, well looked after and very comfortable. Did not want to leave and already discussed about rebooking another stay this year.

The cottage was large and spacious but not completely tidy

The Squirrels Snug was lovely. There was no parasol over the Hot Tub and with the weather we had and the falling leaves everywhere, this made going in the hot tub more difficult.

Mould on the wall in the shower in en suite Mould on the bottom of the wall in main bedroom Umberella over the hot tub only had 2 weights on the feet to hold it down, it wasnt enough the wind blew it over and we had to put back together the wooden fence panels surrounding it Bed was very comfy as were the pillows Hot tub was very good for privacy Lots of cutlery which was already properly washed Overall would recommend just need some slight changes
