As a group of 10 adults and 4 children we stayed at Victoria Mount over the Easter period for a week. Its location is exceptional with promenade walks, quality clothes shops and classy bakeries within walking distance. With a bus stop and train station nearby you can be transported to the fairytale world of Beatrix Potter, to the Wainwright fells, to treetrekking adventures and many more. The house itself is well kitted out and all relevant information on the house is carefully compiled for guests to peruse over. Jim, the owner, excelled in keeping us uptodate to assist in making our stay thoroughly enjoyable and stressfree. He is a wonderful example of how to provide first class accommodation to those who want to access the wonderful Lake District. I'm sure there must be many repeat visitors to Victoria Mount over the years as there can be very few, if any, to compete with its style, location, value for money and plethora of amenities. Thank you Jim and Celia for making our stay at GrangeoverSands so rewarding.

Victoria Mount was perfect in every way . I haven't stayed in a better house and I doubt I ever will .The attention to detail and the quality of everything in the house was second to none the kitchen appliances were excellent and from the crockery to the cutlery to the cupboards being full of everything you would ever need. The hot tub was a huge success with our family as was the childrens play equipment. The views of the bay were stunning and the interior of this Victorian house was a joy to behold .The owner Jim was so helpful. Can't wait to go back. .

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here as the facilities are excellent. The owner has provided everything to make our stay as homely as possible. The bedrooms and en suites are so comfortable and the view from the 2 front bedrooms is stunning in the morning. The kitchen equipment is excellent. The TV package is a bonus for all the armchair sportsmen with us The disabled bedroom is ideal for one of our group. and the addition of a hot tub this year was amazing. Wandering around the beautiful village you'll find its quaint gift shops, butchers, Cafes and bakeries. Such a great place for a break.

Absolutely wonderful, the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. Beautiful period house but with all mod cons. Amazing views of the estuary and the owners had thought of everything. Our grandchildren enjoyed the outdoor play areas and the games room, didnt want to leave.

Beautiful property, every little detail has been considered and was spotless on arrival. Elegant decor inside with a modern balcony and verandah overlooking the stunning bay view. Lovely surrounding area with lots of supermarkets, bakeries, restaurantspubs and independent shops within a short distance, and easy access to the Lakes for days out. Excellent communication throughout from the owners. A great place for a family trip, and somewhere we would love to come back to.

Victoria Mount is an amazing property that is very well maintained with so many facilities. It has been the best equipped house we've stayed in and the facilities ensured that all four generations of us from a 2 year old to an 81 year old were entertained for our stay. Great views, great house, have already booked again for next year, something we've never done before!!

What a fabulous holiday home. It is a beautiful house with spectaculour views. The house is well equipped with everything you need to make your holiday a very memorable one. The rooms are fabulous and very comfortable. Our family group ranged from 4 years to 90 years and there was something for everyone to enjoy. We would love to return here in the future.

A perfect place to hold a family reunion or a get together with friends. All the rooms are well appointed with their own bathrooms. There is a well stocked games room as well as plenty of outside space. The house is within easy reach of all the shops and cafes as well as the prom. The owner leaves an extremely detailed booklet explaining all the local facilities as well as detailed map. The owner is also at the end of the phone to help.

Just Wow! This property is superb and was absolutely perfect for our family get together. We have never stayed in a holiday rental before where everything was so perfect and the owners have thought of every little detail to make it like a 'home from home' stay. No one from our party wanted to leave this beautiful home. Its also in an excellent location, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, takeaways all within easy walking distance. The house was fantastic, really well equipped both inside and out. The kitchen had everything you'd need including a thoughtful welcome pack. Having Sky sports was a real bonus for those less mobile to get to the pub to watch the football. The views from the balcony were stunning and the house was clean, comfortable and a great base to explore the surrounding area. We enjoyed it so much we booked for next year.

What an absolute diamond of a find! This house had everything, the views, the comfort, the activities, the amenities, lots of space, clean and homely. We were a party of 13 and there was plenty of room for everyone. Big plus for me was that the kitchen had everything you needed I really neednt have packed the kitchen sink!!! We baked, we cooked, we Bbqd, we sat outside on an evening toasting marshmallows on the fire pit, played Pool, table football, chess, large connect four, table tennis, shot some hoops and had a blast on the swings, slide and trampoline. We will definitely be returning here because as well as all the above it is a great base for exploring the Lake District. Hosts were easy to communicate with and we felt very welcome.

Victoria Mount is a fantastic property. A great location with amazing views overlooking Morecambe Bay yet close to all the local amenities. Spotlessly clean and furnished with everything you need. The owners have put a lot of care and thought into providing top quality accommodation from the underfloor heating, large ensuite showers and extremely comfortable beds to the fully equipped kitchen and utility room. So much seating available both indoors and out and a variety of indooroutdoor activities to keep everyone entertained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property.

Victoria Mount is a fabulous house with great views across Morecambe Bay at the front. It is very close to the village which has lots of good walks from the door, and plenty of places to eat nearby. We had a great time celebrating my birthday with family and a couple of friends with plenty of space for everyone to relax. Thanks to Celia and Jim for letting us stay in their beautiful house and we hope to go back again in the future.

We found the house to be wonderful. A great location in the heart of the town and close to the train station and shops, yet quiet and with magnificent views. It is extremely well equipped and perfect for children with lots of indoor and outdoor activities catered for. It is the perfect place for a large family gathering.

This is a wonderful property to stay in, everyone in our party fell in love with it ages 6 to 85and what an amazing view to wake up to each morning. The owners are exceptional, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. The town is pretty good too. Best butchers, chippy, cafes, Chinese, it has everything. The children loved the train ride from the local station. We were only here for the weekend but we certainly made the most of it, including having an ABBA and Queen night on our last night to celebrate my sister's 85th birthday!! This is a top class house. It is easily the best large house weve stayed in. All aspects of the house are of a very high standard and the outside spaces are very well equipped for all seasons and age groups. Our four little ones had a lovely time and made good use of the swings and slide. Amazing view to enjoy with your gin and tonic. Everything works and so well thought out to the last detail. We've been doing a family autumn holiday for 28 years and this is by far the best home we have stayed in . We were 10 adults and 2 children10 & 7 and there was plenty space for everyone. Furnished to a really high standard and equipped with everything you could think of inside and out. And what a view from the front of the house! What a splendid property! In an elevated position with panoramic views across Morecambe Bay, the owners have renovated this lovely old house in a sensitive and tasteful way, retaining period features whilst incorporating quality modern equipment. Wow what an amazing property 6 adults 6 children ages from 75 down to 4 everything for everyone, the weather was mixed so when it was wet the games room when it was dry outside so much space in and out, we didnt hire a hot tub from the company recommended which was in the information pack that was fun for young and old me at 75 Many Thanks to the property owners for making this available to rent. This was the most beautiful house I have ever had the pleasure of visiting, there were 13 of us ranging from aged 6 to 56 and we all had space if we needed it but could be together also when needed. The terraces and garden space are all the children needed, we didn't need to go anywhere else to entertain them, they were relaxed and happy all weekend. We had good clear instructions from the owners, everything was on hand and we had a lovely welcome pack the kids loved. The view from the front of the house is something out of fairytales, it was just perfect.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes. Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money. There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

about 8 Miles

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

about 10 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years. There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.
