Another great day trip is to Browsholme Hall (13 miles), a landmark property dating back to the 16th century, which offers guided tours as well as extensive grounds and a tearoom. Enter the spacious hallway and head into the lounge, where an array of soft seating surrounds a wood burner and a Smart TV – perfect for snuggling up after a day in the fresh air.

On this level, there’s also a super-king-size bedroom (with zip-and-link beds which can be made up as a twin on request) with a step up into an en-suite shower room.

The remaining bedrooms are all on the first floor, offering versatile accommodation to suit an array of guests.
