A welcoming retreat nestled in the West Yorkshire village of Thornton, 3.5 miles from Bradford, this holiday haven will suit literature and outdoor lovers alike. Sleeping six guests, and welcoming four-legged friends with open paws, the three-bedroom hideaway sits on the fringes of the birthplace of the famous Brontë sisters.
Venture 6.5 miles from here to Haworth in Airedale to visit the Brontë Parsonage Museum, where they grew up and now a museum. While you are here, take a stroll through the spectacular moorland of Penistone Hill Country Park.
Ogden Water Country Park, 3.5 miles from your base and with woodland and lakeside walks, is also a picturesque place to visit. Pack a picnic and head off for the day to explore the Yorkshire Dales, 12.5 miles away, or the Peak District, 19 miles away.
Closer to home, the Hewenden Viaduct, 4 miles away, is quite a sight to see. Turn away from the views to let yourselves into the cottage via the front door and hallway.
Unlace walking boots, dry muddy paws, and hang jackets before heading on inside. One of your bedrooms, a single room with a pull out day bed, is immediately on your right.
Walk through to the lounge to take a seat on one of the inviting sofas, ready to catch up on the news of the day or perhaps find your current boxset on the Smart TV. This room flows easily into the kitchen/diner, where you will find everything you need to help you cater for your party during your stay.
With its high ceilings and huge windows, you can soak in the rural views as you cook and dine, also located downstairs is a WC. Your remaining bedrooms, one king and a double, are up on the first floor, together with the family shower room.
