Buttercup Lodge Reviews

Great little lodge in an ideal location close to the Bay and the Runswick Bay Hotel which serves fabulous meals. Lodge and hot tub were very clean. Beds really comfortable. Added bonus of two bathrooms, which worked great for us. Well equipped with modern furniture. Ideally situated on a very quiet site with only about ten lodges. Happy to recommend this lodge..

The lodge was in a lovely location with a private hot tub and behind a pub that served food and accepted dogs. Central to all places. Of interest. Very steep walk down to Runswick beach but a nice sandy large one. The empty camping field opposite the lodges paddock doubled up as an ideal dog exercise one as fully enclosed. Would fully recommend any of these lodges.
Had a very cosy feel . Well equipped . Comfortable beds , powerful shower in the ensuite bedroom . Hot tub very private . Close access to the beach , and the pub at the end of the site was great also dog friendly.

We really enjoyed all aspects of the Lodge, it was very comfortable and great to be able to bring our fur baby. We met a couple of the team who were very friendly and checked we were OK and enjoying our stay. We also had a lovely meal at the Runswick bay hotel, again lovely staff. It's a lovely positioned property and we travelled to Whitby, Scarborough and flamingo land. We would love to visit again.
Had a lovely stay at Buttercup Lodge, nice and clean apart from the mattress cover which was quite stained. did not notice until stripping bed on departure bed was really comfortable. Would have liked a cafetiere for coffee but that is personal preference. Location and site great, lovely pub for meals at end of drive and another down in the bay. Will definitely be returning for another stay.

We had a wonderful time here and would love to come back. The place is super dogfriendly, which made our stay even better. Overall, it was generally clean, though we did notice cobwebs in most rooms. A few small updates could make it perfect the oven ignition button didnt work, the toaster wasnt working properly, and we couldnt get normal TV channels. That said, the positives far outweighed the negatives the location was fantastic, the bed was very comfortable, the hot tub was a lovely touch, and the WiFi connection was great. We had an amazing time and would happily recommend this place to others.
We had a lovely stay at buttercup lodge . The lodge is situated in a nice quiet corner surrounded in nature all we could hear were the birds it was so peaceful and relaxing .we used the jacuzzi everynight and enjoyed every minute. Everything was lovely and clean inside and a thoughtful selection of tea coffee biscuits and milk waiting for us which was a lovely touch and welcomed by us after a long journey .we had great nights sleep it was like home from home straight away .and our doggie Daisy Rose soon settled in we brought her bed with us and she loved her walks every day to Runswick bay and soon curled up to go to sleep after lots of fresh air .The bay is beautiful and although its a steep hill there's parking available and a gorgeous ice cream shop cafe at the bottom just near the beach we certainly tried every flavour there .There's a pub hotel just on the front of the lodge site that needs to sort out there bumpy path unfortunately and it's a kind of mess behind the pub but dont be put off as you drive further round towards the lodges they are lovely and we can highly recommend them. .Thankyou to the owners for sharing your beautiful lodge we enjoyed every minute
A lovely lodge, plenty of space for us, great location within the park and within the village.
Apart from the used towels from the previous occupant, this was a great place to stay, clean and well equipped. Hot tub was a luxury and we made the most of it! Good location, easy access to Whitby and surrounding activities. Would happy return if we were looking for something in this area

We returned to Paddock Lodges again this year after staying in Rose Lodge in August last year we said we'd be back ! !! Last year I got the impression that the lodges were brand new and fixtures and fittings matched accordingly. It is expected that there be some signs of ware and tear and general usage, but I felt that a few simple house keeping and maintenance practices could be utlilised to keep the lodge in top notch condition and match expectations. For example in Buttercup Lodge the fan in the ensuite shower room did not work and added to the fact that one of the window catches was broken so the window could not be opened to allow steam to escape this ended up in a foisty room, faded and stained shower mats, one of the dining room spot lights needed replacing, the clock needed a new battery, kitchen bin broken and some of the light bulbs in the hot tub needed to be replaced none of these things are major but add up to a little feel of neglect. Also, the the pots and pans had literally been thrown into the cupboard I assume by the previous occupier, just a quick check from cleaning staff to make sure the cupboard was in order would be sufficient. These are small points which were just a little disappointing, overall the lodge was immaculately clean, beds clean and comfortable, garden furniture and hot tub excellent. The site is well kept and tidy. Overall a resounding recommendation, but paying attention to those little details will ensure such high standards
Buttercup Lodge was delightful, Very peaceful setting, very clean and comfortable, lovely beds and pillows. Our little grandson loved the hot tub of course, and the lodge was handy to visit the beach, Whitby on the bus, Scarborough and Flamingo Park. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The property was lovely and clean and very spacious for 4 adults and a dog. The surrounds of the property were clean and tidy. There was everything we needed to cook with which was very handy. We really enjoyed the our stay at the property and exploring the surrounding area so will definitely book again in the future. We could have done with some more black bin liners as we filled ours pretty quickly. Just a note for the hot tub, it was very dark on a night so a small light would be good. Lovely property, thank you for having us
Fantastic place to stay and service was brilliant.

A great lodge in a superb location at the top of Runswick Bay. There's a short but steep walk to the beach and the village is beautiful. The lodge itself was clean and we'll equipped. Situated in a very quiet, small site right next to the Cleveland Way path so good for dogwalkers. I haven't stayed anywhere with a hot tub before and was surprised that you can't turn them off, although we managed to turn it down. They're louder than I expected and switch on and off intermittently through the night. Probably only an issue for light sleepers but, along with the branches of the trees lashing against the roof on a few windy nights, we didn't sleep too well. I probably wouldn't choose a lodge with a hot tub again.

Very comfortable accommodation spotlessly clean and very good utensils etc in lodge. Prosecco and treats along with tea coffee linen n toilet rolls appreciates would definitely come again
Really lovely lodge with everything you could need for a short break away. Very clean and friendly support when required. Lovely welcome pack. Thank you.

Excellent stay. Perfectly clean and tidy. Everything you need is there. An excellent surprise waiting for us a bottle of preseco in the fridge, milk, biscuits and crisps. Almost like they knew it would take us all day to get there ditting for hours in traffic. This is an excellent spot for exploring North Yorkshire
