Hazel Lodge Reviews

Jennifer
We have just returned from the most wonderful lodge holiday and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Set in beautiful, peaceful countryside, the surroundings were simply stunning. Watching the peacocks wandering around and seeing the horses each day made our stay even more special. The lodge itself was exceptional spotlessly clean, modern, and beautifully presented throughout. It had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the showers were fabulous, and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings, and the secure decking area was ideal for our dog, giving us complete peace of mind. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. It was a truly relaxing and memorable break, and we loved every minute of it. Thank you for such an outstanding stay we can't wait to return one day.
The accommodation is lovely and very quiet, just a short walk from the bustle of Whitby but close enough to enjoy the town. The park and ride is great and incredibly cheap with buses running every 15 minutes. Id definitely return.

Had. a lovely stay stay at Hazel lodge. Was bigger than I expected, with lots of storage space. Short walk to the Stables pub, lovely pub with food. Will definitely go back
We have stayed in many lodges in North Yorkshire, this was the best by a distance. Plenty of space and not lodges crammed in together. The lodge inside was extremely spacious, king size bed with en suite. Perfect distance from a dog friendly pub and from local attractions. The hot tub was massive, clean and looked brand new. For the price, best value for money we have encountered so far. 1010 would recommend, will be back!
Great location for visiting Whitby and area. Opposite park and ride so no need to drive into Whitby. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and spacious. Hot tub was very good. Would book here again.
From the moment we stepped foot into Hazel we were absolutely thrilled. It was a beautiful lodge and very comfortable. Being close to Whitby was an absolute game changer and the surrounding fields were peaceful. It was genuinely one of the best lodges we have stayed in and will definitely be repeat visitors. It was very well equipped and a great size. The only possible niggle was that it could have done with a couple of large bath sheets, especially for the hot tub and some robes would have been nice, as these have been provided in all lodges we have previously visited. However this would not be a barrier to returning as I will.l just pack my own next time. The only disappointment was that we had to come home!
Had a lovely stay Hazel lodge had everything we needed, clean , well equipped, comfortable, would recommend.
Loved this property! The whole site was clean & beautiful. Hazel Lodge was immaculately presented & cleaned. Look forward to returning.
We really enjoyed our stay Hazel lodge, lovely clean site and lodge, well equipped , very comfortable and spacious , it is just out of Whitby itself but we used Ubers or drove in an evening , great views, nice and quiet and great location for exploring the north east coast and Yorkshire . Hot tub was great too . Thank you
Hannah
Wonderful, comfortable and very clean accommodation. Loved the location. Great pub within walking distance. We had a brilliant stay!

The site was amazing and quiet, the hot tub was perfect. . the park was clean and always tidy looked great in the snow maybe a short cut to the pub rather than having to walk all the way round and some dog poo bins around the park would be great..
Dianne
Arrived at property to find it had not been cleaned, dirty towels and bedding lying around contacted a number and received a text saying they would find out what was happening, decided to see if hot tub was ready . .no it wasnt now unsure if it had been cleaned first , access to property poor husband struggled with steps as high and too wide just had a knee op slipped and fell on grass, sofa was stained and dirty pans in the cupboards first day ruined.property itself very sparse but nice. Location is beautiful and easy access to town I would not recommend based on our experience of this lodge. No follow up from owners to check all ok

We loved staying at Hazel Lodge. Easy to find with instructions provided. There was just 2 of us and 1 dog so had plenty room, might be a bit snug for 4 adults. Beautiful views and well spaced from other lodges. Hazel lodge is in an elevated position so bear this in mind if you have mobility problems. Very well equipped for a self catering holiday including an iron and ironing board. The hot tub was great. The bed was quite comfortable could do with a mattress topper. A mat at the front doors might help keep the lovely cream carpet clean. Plenty of storage space. We used the park and ride and the stables pub both great and a five minute walk from lodge. Would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend, the lodge was very clean, comfortable and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The Stables pub next door was an added bonus with good food. The only downside was no washer drying facilities . I would gladly swap the dishwasher! We would struggle to stay for a week when walking and not be able to do any laundry. Our dog enjoyed his weekend away as well but a small dog section would be good for early morning night ablutions

Fantastic lodge, well positioned, hot tub brilliant, there's a pub at top of drive, and park and ride into whitby. Well done team, definitely go back.
We all loved our weeklong holiday at Hazel Lodge. It was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the excellent hot tub was used virtually every day. Even though we love Whitby, it was nice to return to the tranquility of the lodge on an evening to unwind from the hustle and bustle. This was made easy by the lodge's location, so close to the Park and Ride which we used frequently. Only 520 for a family day ticket, much cheaper than paying to park in town and avoiding the hassle of having to find a parking spot. This also meant, being the only driver in the family, that I could have a few drinks. The nearby pubhotel The Stables was also excellent, with a lovely beer garden and fantastic views. There were also some great views from the lodge and a large grass area to the side of the lodge where my Son and I could have a kickabout and play frisbee. A great base to explore other places like Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay too, as the Park and Ride and Arriva bus services were both excellent. Would definitely recommend Hazel Lodge and would definitely return. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Our stay was beautiful, the lodge was immaculate, and great token of gesture to have teabags, sugar and milk! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

A perfect holiday for my wife and I, perfectly placed for going to Whitby, also an excellent jumping off point for the North Yorkshire Moors. As for comfort, the accommodation takes you up to the next level
The lodge was really nice, well kitted out with everything we needed and plenty of space. Bonus of having a hose to rinse the dog off after beach walks. Perfect location for Whitby. Site felt very safe, great views towards the Abbey. It was clean but there could have been a bit more attention to detail, there were dirty hand marks on the patio doors, some stains to carpets and the armchair, some of the pans and plates werent clean. Cant wait to return though and thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic stay at the lovely Hazel Lodge, hope to return in the ... Absolutely fantastic stay at the lovely Hazel Lodge, hope to return in the future, lovely area, discovered Runswick bay, Robin hoods bay, saltburn, staithes, and falling foss and of course whitby itself is amazing
Super lodge, well spaced out in a great position, on a lovely site. A few things missing in the lodge however a fire blanket & extinguisher, oven gloves & only one bin liner provided. A mat by the French doors from the decking & a lamp in the lounge area are just suggestions to consider. All in all, we had a lovely break, & would definitely return in the future.
Rebecca
Excellent location and beautiful surroundings. Approx 2 minute walk to park and ride, 7 minute ride into town, 5.20 return for family of 4! Lodge was beautiful. Couple of really simple and cheap additions needed a mat inside the french doors when walking in from the deckinghot tub and a clothes maiden two dry your wet towels in after the hot tub to save hanging them on the shower screenradiators. Platesdishes etc were all dirty, we put them through the dishwasher so not a major problem. Highly recommend and will return!
Melissa
We had a lovely stay hazal lodge. Lovely peaceful also beautiful scenery. Hot tub was amazing. Lovely accommodation. Definitely will come back
Annette
It was a pity park and ride not open A cover over jacuzzi for rainy days would improve things
Samantha
Although this site is close to a busy road, we didnt notice the noise even when in the hot tub. We like that it is a half hour walk from Whitby and that the site is small and spacious you dont feel overlooked by your neighbours. The lodge itself is stunning and we like that there are two shower rooms with toilets. The master bedroom has a huge walk in wardrobe and the twin isnt cramped. The hot tub got to 38 degrees, which is pleasant enough and typical of a lot of holiday lets. Personally I like it at 39 degrees but that is on the hot side. We would like clearly marked recycling and rubbish bins in the bin hut but maybe theyre not quite there yet with it being a new site. We recommend this lodge and site.
Alison
The accommodation as lovely as it is and in a great setting often felt like you were on a building site. It is not made clear that the site is not yet completed and ongoing development continues to include tarmac surfacing to the main entrance, drilling and ongoing construction work. I had to request coat hangers as only 2 were in the wardrobe the owner was prompt at providing lots more the following day. The seal in the shower was faulty so we were not able to use this, again I informed the owner of this. Lighting on the site is poor at night and the current lighting doesnt seem adequate, we arrived at night and really struggled navigating the lodge in the dark. It would also have been helpful to have bins closer to the lodges the current arrangements are at the entrance gate. This site was great for accessing the park and ride service which is a 5 minute walk away. The lodges are well equipped and clean and it is nice that dogs are welcome. I would like to revisit when the site is fully complete the views and scenery are stunning and from our lodge we could see Whitby Abbey a good base for a break near Whitby.
Absolutely lovely break away we had everything we needed the lodge was immaculately clean in a great location with stunning views. Right next to the park and ride so no stress getting into whitby for the day and the stables Inn was very warm and welcoming also dog friendly. I'd highly recommend
Debbie
We stayed in Hazel lodge for the first time and were not disappointed, it was very comfortable, lovely and clean, well equip with everything you need, lovely hot tub, in a great location, very close to The Stables pub which is dog friendly, looking forward to staying again and would highly recommend, Paul, Debbie, Margaret and 2 dogs Daisy & Herbie, County Durham. .
Annette
Hot tub too cold to use when we got there and we did not realise it took so long to heat up so couldnt use next day either when we got back in after spending a we day in Whitby . . once to a decent temp it was great ! Great location just across from park n ride , the Stables restaurant was ok and just a short walk away. Chalet was lovely
Fabulous lodge in a really convenient location for Whitby. The park and ride is just across the road. The lodge was furnished and maintained beautifully. We loved how all the lodges were well spaced out over the site giving a real sense of privacy. Had a wonderful stay, thank you.
A warning about the number of steps up to the property would be advisable for anyone with mobility issues. Great view though
Lovely place, very comfortable. Looks brand new, and absolutely spotless. Loved the decor. Great views, and nice to see the horses and sheep right there. Only minor points are that the bathroom is absolutely tiny, as is the second bedroom. Very nice enclosed deck with hot tub. Very quiet and peaceful, with the Stables Restaurant very handy, and the Park and Ride literally just across the road, making it so easy to get into town without having to worry about parking. Overall, we Loved it and had a really relaxing weekend.
I can't remember if in the listing mentioned a freezer so we didn't pack any frozen food. The accommodation itself was amazing absolutely loved it. Could have done with more instructions about the hot tub. Will definitely book again.
Michelle
We were the first ever guests at Hazel Lodge and everything was brand new. The Lodge is beautiful with amazing views over to Whitby Abbey and the sea. We had everything we needed and loved every minute. The park and ride is a 2 minute walk away, the pub is a 2 minute walk away and the hot tub was lovely and relaxing in the evening. The owners live on site and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. It really is an outstanding location and the site has been thought out very well to make best use of the surrounding views. We are already looking to book for later on the year.
