About Heatherstone Cottage

The serenity is unparalleled in this exceptional Yorkshire Dales retreat, a stone-built cottage that’s been thoroughly modernised for four guests. The property is just off the Nidderdale Way, a walking route for exploring the stunning scenery of the Nidderdale National Landscape.

Follow it to reach highlights including Brimham Rocks (7.5 miles) and How Stean Gorge (10 miles). The picturesque market town of Pateley Bridge is just 3.5 miles from home, complete with the River Nidd running through it and a historic high street lined with locally owned shops, including an award-winning butcher.

Nearby villages include Grassington (7 miles), Burnsall (6.5 miles) and Appletreewick (5.5 miles), all ideal for country pubs and quality walks. Visit the historic ruins of Bolton Abbey (10 miles) and Fountains Abbey (12 miles), and be sure to make time for trips to market towns including Skipton (13 miles), Ilkley (16 miles), Ripon (15 miles) and Harrogate (16 miles).

This holiday home has been entirely renovated to a high standard, maintaining some of its original design features while providing an unrivalled level of luxury throughout. Step into the entrance hall to leave coats and boots behind, before wandering through to the lounge, where a feature fireplace and Smart TV are set into a stunning, hand-crafted Venetian plaster wall.

The fireplace is a real flame-effect electric fire, adding a warm ambience to cosy nights in, while the Smart TV sits above it for entertainment. Surround sound turns this space into a media hub, while mood lighting can be set to enhance the atmosphere of your movie night.

Move from here into the kitchen/diner, a sleek spot with pro appliances, including a bean-to-cup coffee machine. The stairs up to the first floor have lighting installed, guiding your way even in the dead of night.

Upstairs, two bedrooms offer exceptional design: the first is a king-size room with a walk-in wardrobe, while the second is a stylish double. Both rooms feature mood lighting, USB charging sockets and en-suite bathrooms – one with a walk-in shower, while the other also features a freestanding rolltop bath.

Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY
about 10 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 13 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 17 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
