Lavender Cottage Reviews

Trudy
We had clear instructions on how to enter the cottage. Opening the door we were greeted with the scent of lavender. It bought back many lovely memories. Rosemary the owner had left wine, local made biscuits , nibbles and locally hand made chocolate. What a lovely touch. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable. Perfect in every way, private, and ease of parking.please keep the lovely bath, it was priority in our booking as we only have a shower at home, it was such a luxury to enjoy this bath. Loads of info on where to visit. We were there when the moors were on fire and Rosemary kept constant contact to ensure our safety. Park and ride to Whitby very near . This accommodation was central to our daytime activities. We loved it. Thank you Rosemary for your care and attention xx
Sandra
Lovely cosy well equipped cottage, ideally situated for visiting surrounding areas on the coast - Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick bay, also near to countryside areas Goathland, Grosmont etc
Ian

Loved our stay at Lavender cottage. It had everything we needed and the beds are very comfy. The nearby playground was a hit with our kids. Botham's bakery a few mins walk down the road is great, and would recommend the River Café gardens for a meal.
Helen
A lovely spotlessly clean, cosy and well-equipped cottage with easy parking even for a large car, and lots of thoughtful little details. The only drawback for us was the staircase which has a right angled bend half way up, and wouldnâ??t be suitable for anyone frail or with mobility problems.
Lydia
Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed. Loved the open fire & rolltop bath. Good heating & hot water & nice big smart TV. Would highly recommend.

We've been coming to Lavender Cottage for many years and wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Whitby area.
Susan
Beautiful very well equipped cottage in a great location with excellent local shops.

This is a very well situated cottage and ideally placed for visiting all of the main sites of North Yorkshire. It is set back from the road with a very pretty front garden and good parking. To the rear is a small courtyard to enjoy the evening sun. The cottage is well equipped and has been thoughtfully furnished. On our arrival, our hosts, had left a lovely welcome pack of iced buns, biscuits, crisps and a bottle of wine. Tea bags etc., had been left in the kitchen. I also received an email from Rosemary to check that we had been able to access the property ok and wishing us a very nice stay. This was lovely personal touch. It presents excellent value for money and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed for a wonderful holiday, very helpful welcome text from the owner with some top tips for exploring the local area.
Daniel
The cottage is very clean and tidy. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed (we even cooked a Sunday roast). Although it's quite cosy there was still enough space for 2 adults and 2 young children. The location was perfect for us as we had planned to explore the coast and more inland North Yorkshire. Communication with the owner was brilliant and very helpful. There's a shop and a fish and chips within walking distance plus the fish and chips place does pizzas on a Monday. I would definitely recommend this place for a small family or couple.
Anita
The cottage was in an ideal location with Whitby only a 10-15 minute drive and Scarborough roughly 30 minutes away. We had a lovely stay in the cottage and the welcome pack was a lovely touch from the owners. A bus into Whitby runs past the cottage if you don't fancy driving. Robin Hoods Bay isn't too far away and Staithes within easy reach. Goathland were Heartbeat was filmed is worth a visit. We're looking forward to visiting the area again and Sleights is a brilliant location for visiting the surrounding areas.
Helen
Lavender Cottage exceeded our expectations. Everything we needed and more was provided, including an amazing welcome pack. Thank you, it provided the perfect base for our short stay.
