About Westfield Retreat

Absorb the glorious scenery of the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast before returning to soak in your private hot tub. This enticing retreat for two makes an idyllic getaway for couples.

In addition to the delightful, enclosed garden, where you can unwind in the sunshine on summer days, this inviting, single-storey hideaway at Hunmanby, 3 miles from Filey, also welcomes four-legged friends. Leave your outerwear in the porch before making your way into the heart of this welcoming holiday home.

The stylish, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling, is very much the focal point of the cottage and has been designed to provide relaxation for your stay. From the front window here, when the weather is clear, you can sometimes catch glimpses of the sea in the distance.

Choose a record from the collection and play it as you unpack any shopping and start preparing dinner in the kitchen area. Pour yourselves a glass of wine and enjoy some downtime on the soft seating as your dishes bubble and you await your feast.

Dine together at the table before making fresh coffee in the machine to enjoy in front of the Smart TV. Both the stylish family shower room and the gorgeous, king-size bedroom are accessed via the main living area.

Spill out into your private, outside space on fine days. Cook out on the BBQ and bubble in the hot tub to your heart’s content.

There is secure storage for bikes and plenty of parking available here. Take a salty dip or stroll along the 5-mile stretch of golden sand at Filey.

Pick up the Cleveland Way here and head out along the coast on foot for a spell. Plan a day trip to Scarborough, 9 miles away, to browse in the shops, dine out and see the impressive castle.

We had a lovely stay. The attention to detail in the accomodation is really lovely. Everything we needed was available including food basics, robes, slippers and bathroom extras. Could not fault anything. The hot tub was great and had a lovely view. We would book again. Angela was a great host.
Tracey
Beautiful cottage with lots of lovely special touches to make it even more luxurious. From a very generous welcome pack for both us and our dog, to plush fabrics and towels Angela was a very welcoming host and made sure we were happy and comfortable

We had a fantastic stay at the beautiful Westfield Retreat. The location was peaceful with lovely views all around, and the property itself was spotless and very comfortable. The owner greeted us on arrival and took the time to show us how everything worked, which was a great touch. The outdoor area was beautifully maintained, and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing in the evenings. It felt very private and quiet throughout our stay. There are three local pubs within walking distance, we especially recommend The Piebald Inn, and the beach is only a 5min drive away with very cheap parking. Weâ??d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Had a lovely stay at Westfield retreat, beautifully decorated and lots of extra special little touches, including a great welcome pack for both ourselves and our dog. Bed extra comfy and fantastic hot tub with views. Great location to explore nearby costal towns. Angela the host was lovely and was there to welcome us and on hand if needed but otherwise felt very private and left to enjoy our weekend

We spent a week at this beautiful property. It is exquisitely decorated, equipped to the highest standard and incredibly comfortable. We received welcome packs for ourselves as well as our two dogs, so we were all incredibly happy after a long drive..treats for doggies and wine for us! Despite being situated next door to the owners, we were given complete privacy. The hot tub is an absolute delight.! Perfect after so many adventures in the surrounding countryside and major clifftop walks. I cannot recommend this holiday home enough!
Linda
We arrived to a lovely warm welcome from Angela. The welcome pack was excellent and very thoughtful. She explained how everything worked . The attention to detail in the property was exceptional. The bonus of the hot tub and terrace were very welcome. Won't hesitate to return a 5 star property.

Westfield Retreat is a lovely place to stay with everything you need and more. Very clean and beautifully decorated, plus a private decked area outside with the relaxing hot tub. Warm welcome from the owner, Angela, who showed us round - bike storage in the laundry room was a bonus too. There are pubs and shops nearby and the coast is easy to reach - there is a train station in Hunmanby with trains to Scarborough, Bridlington, Filey and Bempton. All this plus a comfy bed and peaceful surroundings helped us have a relaxing holiday that we would highly recommend.
Julie

We had a lovely week at Westfield Retreat, and thank you Angela and Robb for the efforts you have put in to make the cottage such a complete and relaxing holiday home. Every comfort and piece of equipment had been well thought out, and we loved the addition of the record player and records. The outside space with the hot tub was amazing and again everything you need was there. We were impressed with the electric bbq and the amazing dyson fan in the cottage was a life saver as it was hot in the evening. I would not hesitate to recommend this property for a complete and relaxing holiday.

One of the best appointed cottages we've stayed in for a long time. The owner lives next door but Angela is a great host and once she showed us the ropes upon arrival we were left in peace. The place is lovely and quiet (and spotless) and the enclosed space (with a great hot tub) was brilliant too and allowed our two dogs to roam.
Lynn

Thank you Angela and Rob,one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in, it's definitely 5 star luxury even down to the little extras, handcream, shower gel etc. Welcome pack was exceptional, eggs, bread, chocolate, wine and fruit. Our dog Pearl really enjoyed herself also and loved her welcome pack.A really beautiful home, decorated lovely and so comfortable Was first experience of a hot tub, lovely and relaxing in a well tendered outdoor area.Lovely to meet Angela and Rob they have thought of everything and are so kind,,will definitely be back, wish we were still there

We have an amazing stay at Westfield Retreat. We felt welcomed from the initial call, tour of the place promptly when we arrived and the little extras Angela and Rob had, including a kit for our dogs which meant we barely needed to bring anything for the dogs. We had complete privacy and the time and date for checking the hot tub was clear from the beginning so this continued throughout our time away. It was a 10 minute drive to filey which we did regularly throughout our time away for walks on the beach and of course great fish and chips! Wonderful stay - would recommend to anyone! Ps the garden is a sun trap so if you drop on with the weather you wonâ??t need to leave.
Vikki
It was a pleasure to stay here. Beautifully decorated throughout. Everything you need, home from home. The welcome pack was amazing. All the essentials as well as chocolates, wine and treats for our pooch. Itâ??s only a 10 min walk to the village to local pubs, shops and takeaways and a short drive to Filey & Scarborough. The back of the property is secure so we could let our dog out safely. Then the hot tub on the decking and plenty of seats overlooking the fields.
Andrew
Had a wonderful 4 night stay at Westfield Retreat. Beautiful accommodation which has been designed to very high standard. Angela was very warm and welcoming and has a very good eye for interior design and welcoming guests with bonus extras like the handmade chocolates and wine. Relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring the local area was fabulous. Hunmanby is a lovely area to visit and weâ??d definitely recommend staying at the luxury of Westfield Retreat.

Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 7 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ

Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 8 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP

Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS

Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 19 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
