Hidden inside the Ayr Gorge Woodland, formed around a magnificent red sandstone canyon, Peden's Cove (18.5 miles), a set of steps carved into the red sandstone cliffs, is a visit well worth making. The golden sands of Irvine Beach and Troon Beach can both be reached within 18 miles.
