Wester Aikengall Reviews

Emily
We had a lovely stay at this place! The house is really spacious and comfy, with stunning views from pretty much every room. It’s perfect for a quiet getaway and super easy to get to Edinburgh via park and ride. Emma, the owner, was so helpful and friendly - from the warm welcome basket to tips about the hot tub, she made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend and hope to come back!

We had an absolutely lovely stay here! From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel so welcome, which really set the tone for a relaxing holiday. The house is sleek, comfortableand thoughtfully decorated. We loved the stunning views and the scenic walks nearby - perfect for unwinding. The patio was a great spot for evening drinks. Plus, the beaches and local shops, including Asda and the train station in Dunbar, are super convenient. We'd definitely come back!

We had such a lovely stay as a family of 5! The house was really spacious and had amazing views. The kids adored exploring the countryside and loved running around the hills. The hot tub was a real bonus after a day out. The location was perfect - just 10 minutes to Dunbar and not far from North Berwick with Bass Rock. Plus, there are plenty of sandy beaches with rock pools nearby. We even took a quick train to Edinburgh for a change of scenery. Thanks for a great holiday!

We really enjoyed the layout of the place, it suited us two families with three kids perfectly. The location was a bit tucked away, but that was fine for us. Beaches nearby were absolutely stunning and easy to get to. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Only downside was the patchy phone signal and having to pick up takeaways since they don’t deliver. All in all, a lovely holiday!

We stayed at this lovely cottage for a week with the familyand honestly, it was fantastic. The decor is tasteful and cosy, making it feel like a home away from home. The space was perfect for us, especially the big kitchen and two living areas. It was spotlessly clean too. The views and wildlife around are stunningand we loved unwinding in the jacuzzi. Emma was really friendly and thoughtful, making everything run smoothly. We’re already planning our next visit! Definitely recommend.
Chris
This place is really peaceful and the house has everything we needed. Loved the log burner and hot tub - definitely coming back for another stay!

Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ
about 19 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
Smoo Cave - IV27 4QB
about 27 Miles
Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
