As the evening winds down, destress in the family bathroom with its large walk-in shower, and catch your rest in either a twin room, a double room, or a double with handy en-suite.

If you don’t feel like cooking, 3.5 miles away you will find the town of Dornoch where you can have a hearty meal at Coach House Bar & Restaurant, visit Jail Dornoch to buy some souvenirs, channel your inner Tiger Woods at the Royal Dornoch golf Club. If the weather allows, don your bathing suit and head over to Dornoch Beach, with its beautiful views and coastal walks.

For even more adventurous fun, make your way to Portmahomack where you can visit the Tarbat Discovery Centre Museum, enjoy stunning coastal views at Tarbat Ness Lighthouse, and if you’re lucky enough, you can say hello to the dolphins at Portmahomack Dolphin Viewpoint. Great place to stay. Well equiped, clean, and comfortable. So relaxing!
Victoria
The property was exceptionally clean on arrival and the teabagscoffee and milk were a very nice welcome touch. Even although there is a second property nearby, the cabin was very quiet and we were not disturbed. Exactly the peace we wanted. The gravel garden is fenced for dogs but very small dogs would be able to escape under either of the garden gates, the grass area is not fenced. Two of the bedrooms have patio doors, if you like to sleep with the window open this isn't an option, however we felt safe enough to leave the patio door ajar while sleeping. The cabin is clean, quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Additionally it's a short drive to Dornoch and the beach. We had a great stay.

Lovely modern property, top quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings. Set in a great location. Had a great stay.
Would 100 recommend this property to anyone considering booking. From the moment we arriived it was obvious to us that we had discovered an absolute gem and this was reaffirmed over and over throughout our stay as we discovered how well situated, appointed, and ran this property was. The setting is stunning, with fantastic views over pristine unspoilt countryside all exclusively available to explore including your own private section of a passing river meandering through the grounds. You will not want for anything during your stay, as the property owners have got it all covered from kitchen accessories to games to the awaiting hot tub set at the optimum temperature ready for you to simply remove the cover and enjoy. Can't wait to return ASAP , the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Wow! This has got to be the best holiday weve ever been on. The garden is massive so highly recommend if you have dogs
Great property. High end spec. Great location. In a quiet location. Great space. Modern showers and bathroom. Lovely kitchen and dining space. Managed to get in earlier which was great. The hosts were easily contactable. Great folder about property and local attractions. Would suggest new mattresses they were quite soft and springy. And small issue with oven door on our last night. Other than that it was brilliant. Would highly recommend and cant wait to return. Great for family. Hot tub brilliant. Lots of deer in the fields. Great for dogs as well. Close to Dornoch and Tain.
Had an amazing holiday here with family, enjoyed it so much that we could have stayed longer than 1 week
Don't know what you could do better even weather was brilliant. To say me my wife daughter son inlaw and two grandchildren had a good stay is a understatement, so thanks for that.
It was the perfect place to unwind and relax. We liked it when we got there but loved it by the time we had to leave i could happily live there.

We had a great holiday. Cottage was really comfortable and clean. The visits from the wild life was fantastic. The hot tub was great and everything in the cottage was first class.
We had a fabulous family holiday in this well equipped, comfortable lodge. Set in beautiful & peaceful countryside & enjoyed watching wildlife on the terrace. Only slight concern is mattresses need replacing in all bedrooms. Would definitely go back to this lodge as it is a great base to go exploring this region.
We loved our stay in Red Squirrel. It was extremely relaxing and the property is very clean modern with lots of amenities available to use. The owners were very communicative and reactive to any questions we had. Our only surprise was how far away the property is from Dornoch. The property is described as in Dornoch, but its actually in Evelix. When you type Red Squirrel Dornoch into Google Maps, it takes you to the beach front and includes photos of the property. Maybe this is a mistake, but it was certainly misleading when making the booking. Regardless, we had cars so it wasnt an issue but worth mentioning as we wouldve probably booked within the town if we had our time again.

Red Squirrel Lodge is an absolute must if you like the area. The Lodge is well stocked and so unbelievably comfortable. The finishes are of a high standard and the layout has been well thought out. Had the most relaxing and comfortable stay have ever had holidaying in Scotland it was just bliss. The weather was great, the Red Arrows practicing over Tain was an added bonus and the hot tub was a huge treat The owners are also so attentive and clearly love what they do. You won't regret staying here have already booked our summer holiday in Lodge next door!!!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend our vacation in such a peaceful and relaxing setting. The lodge is beautifully furnished with great attention to detail, making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Every part of the lodge felt thoughtfully designed, and we appreciated the cozy atmosphere it provided. The quiet surroundings were perfect for unwinding, and we left feeling truly refreshed. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone seeking a quiet, quality retreat!
We had a fantastic holiday staying at Red Squirrel. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing, hot tub is great. Beds were very comfortable, everything you could possibly need was supplied. We would love to stay here again
Two people complained that mattresses were too soft. One photo shows twin beds in one room but on arrival it had been made as a double which caused an issue. More importantly it was late when we arrived and directions from WEBSITE using maps took us past the entrance to the property and also said property was on right hand side and it was on left. However on reading notes from owners the directions were correct stating property on left.
Elizabeth
The only items not provided but needed were towelling bath robes and slippers for using after the hot tub. Beautiful accommodation not overlooked
