Offering cosy accommodation for couples and smaller families, this delightful single-storey retreat makes a fantastic holiday home for hikers, climbers, golfers and wildlife enthusiasts discovering the glorious surroundings of the Southern Highlands. The property lies within the picturesque village of St Fillans, close to the shore of Loch Earn along the eastern edge of the stunning Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
St Fillans has a range of places to eat and drink, alongside a golf club, and makes a great base for trout fishing and skydiving. Heading east, the historic town of Crieff (12 miles) hosts an annual Highland Games, and is home to landmarks and attractions including The Strathearn Gallery, Castle Cluggy, and MacRosty Park.
Just south of the town are the beautiful Drummond Castle Gardens (15 miles). A few external steps lead up from the road to the pathway leading to this detached hideaway.
From the path, a few more steps take you up and into a welcoming vestibule leading immediately through into the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Sitting beneath a high ceiling with light streaming in via a skylight, the cheerful lounge features ample seating, a Smart TV, and a cosy wood burner.
A central dining table is perfect for enjoying a family meal together, and the bright and beautifully organised kitchen is fully equipped, with plenty of workspace and storage space. When it’s time to turn in for the night, you will have a choice of two bedrooms.
The first is a pretty room with a super-king-size bed which can be made up as a twin on request; this room has a Smart TV and a useful en-suite bathroom which also features a handy utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The second bedroom is a peaceful king-size room with a Smart TV and an en-suite bathroom with a corner spa bath.
