Hardhills Cottage Reviews

We had a brilliant stay at this lovely cottage! The surrounding scenery is stunning, its so quiet and yet so close to local amenities 5mins to 2 supermarkets. The cottage itself is immaculate, the decor is beautiful and modern, the attention to detail is excellent, we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay and the hot tub was an added treat! We would thoroughly recommend!

What a beautiful cottage in an amazing location. We were blown away on arrival at how beautiful it was, clean, tidy and had everything we needed. I liked the information pack as give us knowledge of what was around. Hot tub and pool table were a bonus. Enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend and would like to return in the future.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this beautiful cottage. We loved everything about it, the bed was comfy , the shower was great & very powerful loads of storage plenty of parking space. The hot tub was HUGE and very clean with the most amazing views from it. The views from the sun lounge are amazing too, we saw 8 badgers , lots of red kites, buzzards, woodpeckers, swallows & martins and deer and brown hares just to name a few! Absolutely loved it here.

I spent ALL day trying to get hold of the owner to get a key number only to find he was in Turkey. Don't you know when owners are away, if not why not, we could of been given an alternative number. Why is it so difficult to get in touch with yourselves by phone, not everybody has whats app, you don't even have a phone number on your web site had to find it on google. Very frustrated holiday people The travel instructions are wrong at the last instant, you do not turn left onto B727 which isn't signed you go 50 yds past B727 then turn right into the cottage driveway. Very noisy traffic mainly HGV's at night even with the windows shut. On the plus side the people I did speak to were very helpful

The cottage was so comfortable and had all we wanted. The hot tub and pool table in particular were brilliant additions. We loved the cottages decor and its peaceful surroundings great for watching the wildlife at the back. Very clean, cosy and convenient for local amenities.
I think the Cottage is worth of value . Everything that we need inside the cottage is was great . The pool room was great , we has a good fun playing pool in the evening . The hot hub was great and the weather is was brilliant.
Was more than we normally pay but you get what you pay for. Exceeded our expectations by a long way. Photos do not do it justice. If you are unsure whether to book it, just do it.

This property is utterly stunning. Its situated 3 miles give or take from the nearest village in both directions. Its very private and quiet for maximum relaxation! The whole house is finished to a really high standard and is a stones throw away from Dalbeattie forrest or the coast at Kippford for stunning views and great walks. I honestly couldn't find fault and we would be happy to return!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, great location, very well equipped and very comfortable. Fantastic weather for May in Scotland. It was a perfect week.
Jennifer
What a fabulous cottage it has to be one of the best that we have stayed in. Pool table was a great little touch especially when it rained in the evening just to pass the time away. We would definitely recommend this property, we will definitely return.
An amazing property in a beautiful setting. Very well equipped and furnished.
Elizabeth
Probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. With beautiful surroundings, nesting ducks & geese in pond and ewes with lambs in field along with good weather, it made our 5 days a lovely holiday.
Lovely comfortable cottage. Written directions to property are wrong. Cottage is situated on east side of A745.
Anthony
A fabulous bungalow wonderful facilities. phoned Ewen a couple of times very friendly and helpful, the surrounding area has outstanding views. The nearest neighbour is 400 yards away wonderfully peaceful. Shame about the weather but you don't go to Scotland in February for the sun. Visited lots of the local areas and went up to Ayr for the day. Had a fabulously relaxing week. Hot tub fantastic once up to temp. Will definitely be back. Congrats Ewen and Shelagh on a beautiful bungalow
Superb property, extremely spacious. Really allowed us to chill for a week. Lovely games room hot tub and thoughtful amount of boxed games. Super kitchen with everything you need. One of the best places we have stayed
Joshua
Brilliant property, provided a really relaxing stay which is just what we needed. Instructions on how to work the heating would have been helpful as we couldn't work it out. Would definitely stay again
Had a beautiful stay for 4 days over New year. Totally recommended.
It was a pleasure to stay in such a fantastic place for our mini honeymoon. Great location as well being close to castle douglas and Dumfries. Ewen the host was helpful with questions and help throughout. The view from the hot tub and conservatory were stunning! Thanks again!
Rebecca
