The Curve at Caerlaverock Estate is an architect-designed eco lodge on the hillside of Caerlaverock Estate in Glencaple, Dumfries and Galloway. Designed by award-winning designer Sam Booth, this one-bedroom lodge sits with far-reaching views across the Solway Estuary to the Lake District. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors run the full width of the front. No neighbours. Just you, the views and the odd cow.

The estate sits on the south west coast of Scotland, about a mile from Glencaple village on the River Nith. The Caerlaverock Wetland Centre a 1,400-acre wild reserve is five minutes by car. The skies here are among the darkest in the world, making stargazing exceptional.

The Curve at Caerlaverock Estate is an architect-designed eco lodge on the hillside of Caerlaverock Estate in Glencaple, Dumfries and Galloway. Designed by award-winning designer Sam Booth, this one-bedroom lodge sits with far-reaching views across the Solway Estuary to the Lake District.

The estate sits on the south west coast of Scotland, about a mile from Glencaple village on the River Nith. The Caerlaverock Wetland Centre a 1,400-acre wild reserve is five minutes by car.

The skies here are among the darkest in the world, making stargazing exceptional. Over 200 miles of coastline with secluded sandy beaches is within reach.

Sleeping up to 4, the lodge has one king-size bed (5ft) plus two pull-down single beds for children.

The open-plan living space has a wood-burning stove, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom features a sky-gazing window.

Caerlaverock Castle (5 miles), Dumfries town centre (7 miles), Castle Douglas (18 miles) and Kirkcudbright (22 miles) are all worth a visit.

The wood-fired private hot tub for two is the perfect end to any day out.

To reach The Curve at Caerlaverock Estate by car, head south from Dumfries on the B725 towards Glencaple. The estate is approximately one mile beyond Glencaple village on the banks of the River Nith. Private on-site parking for two cars is available on arrival.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Dumfries, which sits on the Glasgow South Western Line. From Dumfries station a taxi or local bus will get you to Glencaple in around 15 minutes.
