About The Den Gatehouse

This charming holiday haven is an ideal destination for one or two people looking to relax and recharge in the stunning scenery of Galloway. If you enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, golf, swimming, water sports, or sailing, you can indulge in a wide variety of outdoor activities nearby.

In Gatehouse of Fleet, 1 mile away, you’ll find a selection of coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs, as well as a fascinating visitor centre. It is also the starting point for a 3-mile woodland walk and a number of cycling routes.

Carrick Shore, 3 miles away, is a picturesque, sandy beach where you can sail, canoe, or windsurf, or simply enjoy a tranquil stroll. Visit the vibrant fishing port of Kirkcudbright (pronounced ‘kir-coo-bree’), 8 miles away, for an arts-and-crafts trail with more than 100 venues, or Castle Douglas, 13.5 miles away, for its array of places to eat and foodie businesses.

Located on a boutique site among just seven other properties, this delightful escape is a studio-style ‘snug’ with an open-plan lounge, kitchen, diner, and bedroom. It may be compact, but it’s been carefully planned to include all the amenities you’ll need for a fabulous holiday, including central heating and Wi-Fi.

From the patio, enter the light-filled space (one step up), where a soothing colour scheme will instantly help you to relax. Sink into the plush sofa, turn on the Smart TV, and enjoy switching off from the stresses of the everyday world.

If you feel like cooking at home, the perfectly formed kitchen area includes an oven, hob, and microwave, with storage and worktop space to help you get creative with delicious meals – perhaps using local produce picked up on your travels. Sit down to dine at the table for two, enjoying the gorgeous rural views through the glazed doors.
