Tee off in the enchanting surroundings of the verdant Boat of Garten Golf Club, just 1 mile away, or follow waymarked trails down to Loch Garten and Loch Mallachie, keeping your eyes open for the majestic ospreys and golden eagles that this corner of Scotland is known for.
Take the time to tour the distilleries of the Cairngorms and discover the ancient craft of whisky-making, pausing to sample or take home a wee tipple. Make your way into the lodge via the generous entrance, where you can pause on cushioned seats to remove your walking boots or wellies.
Head on inside to find luxury accommodation featuring high-specification furniture and furnishings and an abundance of textures and natural materials, including Icelandic fur rugs. Turn to your right to discover the lounge, the first of the many enticing reception spaces where you can light a wood burner and sink back into the soft seating with a book or magazine from the shelves or the Smart TV on.
Head left to emerge in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its additional comfortable seating and large wooden table. Stoke up the wood burner in here too, then enjoy the warmth as you find all the equipment you need to help you rustle up hearty Scottish feasts, perhaps with an eye on your favourite TV programme on the Smart TV at the same time.
