Other local attractions include Butterfly World, Monkey Haven, Wight Military and Heritage Museum, and Carisbrooke Castle (all within 4 miles). Rides include the family friendly Toboggan Run and Colossus Swinging Galleon but one of the parks most popular attractions is the Falconry where visitors can enjoy some of the finest flying displays in the UK. The park also has a fantastic nature area where Red squirrel safaris are just one of the attractions.
Play & Farm Park - PO31 8PE

Isle of Wight's multi activity and play Farm park this attraction will really appeal to families looking for a fun day out. Recently improvements have been made to enlarge the straw fun play barn and this is now the biggest indoor play space on the island. This farm is now split into separate attractions, the play barns and petting farm which include rides on tractors and trailors and the tractor driving experience. Open all year this place is also excellent value for money.
Appley Park - PO33 1ND

Appley Park is a great place for families with young children to spend the day and is especially popular during the summer months. Within the park is a playground with pirate ship, a selection of slides and swings and a pathway leading down to a lovely sandy beach. The nearby seafront also has many attractions including a paddling pool and a 9 hole Pitch and Putt course as well as a water play area.

Younger children will also love the Zoolittle Farm area where they can meet some of the zoos more affectionate residents and even get to hold them. Fort Victoria is many attractions in one convenient location. What once was a historically important fort is now home to a Marine Aquarium, a Model Railway, a Sea Bed Archaeology Exhibition and a Planetarium. The Country Park also offers delightful woodland walks. Countryside Rangers are on hand to give guided walks of the seashore and the woodland. Admission to the park is free of charge but each of the attractions incur a small charge.

Royal Victoria Country Park is highly recommended for a day out in the summer and has lots of things for children to do. There are woodland trails to explore with free maps and guides available. There are also several play areas, one for older children, one for the little ones and one for disabled children so no one is left out of the fun. Within the grounds there is also a heritage site, a tea room and a formal garden.
