Rookley Lake Cottage Reviews

Tracey
The accommodation and location were first class. Unfortunately, the weather was absolutely atrocious, with serious localised flooding and landslides on the Island. We didn't use the Hot tub because of the inclement weather, sleet, snow showers, and heavy rain. It's a pity that there wasn't a Vacuum left for the guest to use, but we managed...
We arrived at sky cottages at 3pm and were allowed early access which was nice, the property is roomy and was clean, the hot tub which was the main reason we booked this property was big enough for 6 adults without being to cramped, heated up lovely and warm, the jets were good, only down side is access to the hot tub was via the main downstairs bedroom. Shower was good, kitchen had all the things you need, with a large fridge and nice size freezer. Would book again
What a fantastic stay, would definitely go back. It was perfect thank you
The dog welcome pack was a lovely touch. The house was very comfortable although one of the settees and a bed mattress will need to be replaced pretty soon. The only suggestion I would make is to include the house number on the location details, but the park reception were able to help us so it wasnt a problem.
The cottage is a delightful place. Perfect for my wife and our little daschund. The place is situated perfectly to explore the island and take some beautiful walks across the countryside. Will definitely return as theres more we want to explore. Also the hot tub is the icing on the cake!

We did all in all have a lovely stay however we did come away feeling disappointed with several things and also wanted to give some advice to help with future guests. We booked this as it had a secure garden for our dog but on arrival we noticed the hot tub was leaking and although the weather was lovely and dry we couldnt let him out there because of the dirt it would then bring in the property, let alone not using the hot tub either which was also a disappointment. Im sure youre aware as there was already a tea towel under the sink in position but there is a leak that needs addressing. In addition a lot of the plates, cups, pans and cutlery was dirty and all had to be rewashed before use which wasnt ideal. Lastly the number of the property needs to be included on the bookings. The holiday park is in an ideal location and would recommend to others but think the above points need to be rectified so guests can enjoy it even more.
This is a lovely modern cottage with much to recommend it. The downstairs is very spacious and the main bedroom has a large ensuite. This cottage is an end terrace, adjacent to a large field. A combi boiler means you never run out of hot water and the heating is effective. The whole place is in very good condition, with some issues noted below. We did order one takeway from the main restaurant and it was very good, otherwise we didn't use any onsite facilities. The local coop is only a few minutes walk away and well stocked. We would be happy to stay again. Here are some things that should be addressed ASAP Wifi password sticker missing solved after several text messages exchanged Central Heating timer broken Dirty oven shelves need a deep clean It would be useful to have written information in this accommodation or receive it by email site facilities, local shop info, WiFi info, bins, heatinghot water, checkout process. Here are a couple of things that didn't suit us Synthetic bed linen in upstairs bedrooms 100 cotton would be much more comfortable Missing gap where the washing machine should be in kitchen is a bit weird. There is no thermostat in the main living area to automatically turn the central heating on and off
