Sittingbourne is just 5 miles away, where you’ll find a Georgian high street with a choice of shops and restaurants, while spectacular Leeds Castle is only 5.5 miles – offering unique displays, gorgeous gardens and 500 acres of parkland. The historic market town of Faversham is 13.5 miles, while Canterbury, with its iconic cathedral, is 22 miles.

Beach lovers, meanwhile, can head to the coast and enjoy a day at the seaside, with fabulous Whitstable just 20.5 miles from your front door. Thoughtfully designed to give an authentic experience in which traditional Japanese style meets utter tranquillity, the serene property is reached via a gated entrance.

As you arrive, take a moment to enjoy the valley views and the landscaped garden, complete with a Buddha (meditation) bell to help foster a sense of presence and calm. There is a small cottage adjacent, but you will be given full privacy.

Inside, three warmly inviting rooms greet you, all set on one level. The bright and spacious lounge/ bedroom has a wooden floor and walls clad with timber and bamboo, and comes complete with traditional tatami mats and an open irori fire – a traditional Japanese sunken hearth (due to safety reasons, the owner must light it).

At bedtime, the king-size bed is ready for you at one end of the room, with tatami mats and a futon rather than a mattress. From here you can gaze out at the beautiful view and spend time simply doing nothing.
