This romantic cabin makes a great place for walkers to stay, nestled in the heart of the Kentish countryside. The local pub is just 50 metres away, at the end of the lane, perfect for those indulgent evenings when you don’t fancy cooking.
There’s a bus stop here too, with regular services, if you want to take the strain off by using public transport. Dover is a mere 2 miles away, while Folkestone is just 3 miles away, with the vibrant Creative Quarter and harbour, complete with food and drink venues.
Pretty towns like Deal (11.5) and Hythe (10.5) dot the coast. Inland, castles abound with the iconic Dover Castle atop the White Cliffs (3.5 miles), English Heritage-run Walmer Castle and Gardens (10.5 miles), and Deal Castle (11 miles).
These last two date from the 16th century, originally used as artillery forts. Accessed up some outdoor steps, then through the garden, you’ll enter this well-equipped cottage into the open-plan living area, seamlessly combining the lounge and kitchen/diner.
Sink back into the comfortable reclining chairs to watch the Smart TV, enjoy some gaming or just sit with your beloved (canine or human!) listening to the vinyl collection on the record player. Cleverly hidden behind quirky sliding wooden doors are the elegant double bedroom and the stylish shower room.
As the saying goes, it’s small but perfectly formed. Open the French windows to let the fresh air in.
Outside, you’ll step onto a private terrace area complete with the Ninja wood-fired BBQ and sun loungers. There’s also your own hot tub in the cosy enclosed garden, where dogs will enjoy sniffing around.
Private parking for one car is another bonus.
