4 Meadow Retreat is a stunningly-presented holiday lodge located in the charming village of Dobwalls in Cornwall. This beautiful property is situated just outside of the breathtaking Bodmin Moors, a perfect base for families and groups of friends who love hiking and scenic views.

Step into a spacious and sleek open-plan living space with a fully-kitted kitchen where you'll whip up feasts while your loved ones either lounge on the plush sofas in front of the Smart TV or enjoy a few rounds of card games around the dining table. Tuck into your meals outside on the terrace when the weather allows, then watch the kids run and play on the communal lawn area while you take a dip in the hot tub.

When sleep calls, catch your rest in one of the beautifully-decorated bedrooms with their soft furnishings and large windows. Those lucky enough to get the master or king-size rooms can enjoy their own en-suite shower rooms and Smart TVs.

Wake up in the morning, take a refreshing shower and get ready to seize the day. Head out to explore the nearby town of Liskeard and have some delectable British cuisine at The White Horse Inn pub, go to Rumours for some bistro-style dining and for a lighter lunch or indulgent brunch make your way to The Powerhouse Cafe.

In this lovely town you'll also be able to get a taste of history by visiting Liskeard Museum and Stuart House. In the vast Bodmin Moors, you'll find so many places to hike in and discover.

Start with Carnglaze Caverns, a man-made cave with an underground lake where you'll even be able to catch a concert or live event, hike up to Golitha Falls and enjoy the sights of a beautiful cascading waterfall within an ancient oak woodland, and make your way up to The Cheesewring to see the giant granite slabs and marvel at a panoramic view of the moors. Drive down to the wonderful town of St Austell for a sunny day out and lounge on the sand at Duporth Beach, take a stroll through Pinetum Gardens with its 6000 species of plants and stunning themed gardens, then end the day with a family meal at Smokinâ€™ Harbour BBQ boasting views of Charlestown Harbour and St Austell Bay.

Delightful!

Fantastic lodge and site. Peace and perfection, a no hassle break, everything as it Should be. Everything you will need and then more, the setting, the luxury, The peace and quiet. Location great too only moments away from it all, yet once on site, Back to the calm ho yes, and the hot tub. 9.510 really enjoyed it, missing it already.

Fantastic venue and great customer service! I would highly recommend this place to another families or group of friends looking to holiday together, the place was incredibly clean, facilities all working and the area was super quiet. Sally was also super helpful letting me know when the property was available sooner and really helpful in recommending some taxi companies!

Another fabulous stay at Southern Halt. 4 Meadow Retreat was fabulous. Clean, cosy and welcoming. Loved the Christmas tree. Comfortable for 6 adults. Would benefit from some more baking trays, a chopping board, a few more mugs in the kitchen and hooks on the bathroom doors for gowns and wash bags. Otherwise perfect.

Lovely lodge and park, would return. Would be nice as it is dog friendly if a non slip mat was provided and 2 dog bowls. Also could not shut 2 of the bedroom doors as they did not fit the frames properly, just a little tweak otherwise perfect, thank you

Wow, where do I begin. 4 meadow retreat was an absolute delight, the surroundings are absolutely stunning. The cleanliness throughout the whole of the lodge was incredible, the lodge catered for everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Not to forget, the hot tub is a brilliant addition to this place. There were 4 adults and 4 children on our trip and we all had such a fab holiday. Can't wait to return next year!

We had the most wonderful stay at 4 Meadow Retreat my only regret is that I wish I'd booked to stay for longer! !! The lodge was so impressive and it really wowed us as soon as we pulled up. It was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed for a family of 8 6 adults and 2 children. We appreciated the lovely little touches like the welcome pack, which had essentials like tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Southern Halt's grounds are beautiful the photos really don't do it justice. The lodge looked out over the pond and my son loved spotting the rabbits hopping around it. Thank you for the most wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back again next year!
