A 15-mile drive brings you to the historic city of Exeter, home to a stunning cathedral and a vibrant selection of shops, restaurants, and amenities. Nature lovers are spoiled for choice with both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks nearby, and the iconic Jurassic Coast, featuring picturesque spots like Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, and Branscombe, all within 25 miles.

Step inside the lodge from the covered decking and enter the spacious open-plan living area combining the lounge, kitchen, and dining space. Relax on the comfortable sofa beside the crackling wood burner and Smart TV or cook up a feast in the fully equipped kitchen using fresh local ingredients.

The dining area provides the ideal setting for meals, with French doors offering views of the lake just beyond. The lodge features three bedrooms: a king-size with French doors opening onto the deck, a flexible zip-and-link twin room (can be made into a super-king on request), and a second king-size bedroom at the opposite end of the lodge, complete with en-suite shower room.

A modern family bathroom completes the interior. Outside, enjoy the private, covered deck featuring a comfortable seating area for al fresco dining and uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding countryside.

When night falls, climb into the blissful hot tub and unwind together.

Crealy Great Adventure Park - EX5 1DR

This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ

This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
The Donkey Sanctuary - EX10 0NU

The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. North Devon Farm Park is a haven for wildlife and has a fantastic location making it the perfect place for a day out during the summertime. As well as gorgeous scenery, picnic areas and plenty of space for children to play the park offers a Play Area, Tea Room serving local produce, a Petting Zoo where little ones will love meeting the affectionate animals and Nature tTails. There is also a Play Area.
Hedgehog Hospital at Prickly Ball Farm - EX20 3TA

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
