Sea Sanctuary Reviews

Really enjoyed our stay here. The location was ideal for exploringand we appreciated the thoughtful touches like robes and towels for the hot tub. Building work nearby didn't bother us at all.

Pretty decent overall experience

We recently stayed at Sea Sanctuary for a 50th birthday break and loved it. The place is so peaceful, with everything we needed - plus some little extras we didn't expect. Instructions for the hob and other bits are all there if you bother to look. The location is perfect - far enough from the noise but still close enough to enjoy the beach and walks. Our beagles had a blast and were knackered! We'd definitely come back, it's a great spot.
Simon
We found this place to be really nicely kept and quite charming. The upside-down layout with the kitchen and bedroom downstairs and the lounge upstairs offering sea views was a nice touch. There was some ongoing building work nearby, which was noticeable but not too disruptive at the time. The bed was super comfyand we'd happily come back. Definitely adding it to our list for next time!

We had a lovely stay - the place was spotlessly clean and super comfy, honestly didn't want to get out of bed! It's well set up and not far from local amenities, though the road can be a bit busy at night if you're walking. The area was peaceful, apart from the building work behind, but with only a few others around, it was pretty quiet overall.
Samira
We had a really good time at Sea Sanctuary. The place was spotless and the owners left us pretty much alone, which we appreciated. The location is great, with plenty of lovely walks nearby. The hot tub was a highlight, but a hand rail would've made getting in and out easier. Also, the microwave combo oven was a bit of a mystery-some clear instructions would've been useful. Overall, it was a lovely stayand we'd definitely come back. Highly recommend!
Emma
This is a great place with everything you need. It is spotlessly clean and the bed is really comfortable! However, we felt the hot tub was unusable since getting in was quite awkward. The steps didn't fit well, so we had to use just a small corner of the top step and hold onto the drainpipe. We also found the combi oven too complicated. It ruined our foodand a standard oven would have meant we wouldn't have to eat out all week. These two things would make us think twice about returning, I'm afraid.
Mark
This cottage/coach house is absolutely superb and in a fabulous location - just a 10 minute walk to Westward Ho! and only 5 minutes to Northam. It was really comfortable throughout (the bed is amazing!). We spent most of our time out and about, so we didn't end up using the hot tub.
Sophie
We had a lovely little getaway with our dog Archie! The downstairs bedroom that opens onto the courtyard and hot tub has such a spa-like feel. The courtyard outside the kitchen is ideal for alfresco dining. Despite being next to the owners' house, it feels very secluded. We didn't really use the upstairs lounge much since the weather was glorious, but the views from up there are absolutely wonderful. Great location too! The beach at North Burrows was perfect for the dog, although we drove because it was just so hot.
Rachel
Fantastic location! Super comfortable stay. The hosts were lovely and made us feel right at home.
Emily
What a stunning place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed every second we were thereand would definitely stay again!
James
We found the extensive list of 'actions' required before leaving a bit excessive and it really ought to be included in the rental price. It would have been helpful to have clearer information about this when we rented, especially since the 9.30am check-out was introduced for COVID, giving more time for cleaning. Quite a few of these tasks seem like they should fall under professional cleaning responsibilities, like the deep clean and washing bedding. We're fine with stripping beds to help out, doing a general cleanand loading the dishwasher with the remaining cutlery and crockery.
Sarah
The cottage is stunning insideand while the garden is on the smaller side, having a hot tub made it totally worth it! We used it every day. The location is perfect for us; we strolled down to the beach each day. Also, it's impressive that they provide everything you could need in the accommodation, even dog bowls and a dog towel. Thanks for a wonderful break!
