If you're considering West Hayne, just go for it! Honestly, it’s got that real wow factorand Dick & Suzy are such lovely hosts. The pub, Ring O Bells, is great for food and the walk back at night is quite the adventure-saw a tiny hedgehog and a bat! We definitely plan to return soon.

We’ve just come back from our second stay at this lovely cottage and honestly, we can't wait to return. Dick and Suzy are such welcoming hosts and make you feel right at home. We loved the peaceful location, though those winding Devon lanes caught us by surprise! The place had a really handy big fridge and separate freezer, perfect for stocking up. The views, from sunsets to moody skies, are just stunning and so calming. The cottage was cosy and well designed, plus we appreciated having Netflix. It’s super dog-friendlyand the grounds are ideal for late-night star walks. Dick and Suzie were incredibly helpful. Overall, a lovely stay - definitely recommend for anyone needing a quiet escape. We recently spent some time at West Hayne and honestly, it was brilliant! The kids had a blast collecting eggs each morning and picking fresh fruit and veg from the garden patch. Suzie and Dick are such lovely hosts, really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We spent evenings relaxing in the hot tub, soaking up the stunning views and watching the bats fly around - such a lovely touch. If you're after a peaceful getaway away from the hustle and bustle, this is definitely the place to be. We’ll be coming back for sure!

Honestly, this place was just what we needed. Gorgeous views, super peaceful settingand the house felt modern but cosy at the same time. Suzy and Dick were lovely hosts-friendly but respectful of our space. We picked it because it’s close to our son's wedding at Harefield Barnsand we’re really happy with that choice. We stumbled upon this little gem and honestly, it’s fantastic! Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, with breathtaking views that make you want to stay forever. The cottage is super well-equipped, clearly cared for with lots of little touches. The hot tub overlooking the scenery is just perfect for unwinding. Quiet, peacefuland no bothering anyone-just what we needed. Our twin daughters loved it tooand we’ve already booked again for next year. Absolutely loved it!

We had such a lovely stay! Suzy and Dick really went above and beyond-helpful, welcomingand they even decorated for a birthday with a homemade cake that was delicious. The cottage had everything we needed, plenty of space but still cosyand if you're lucky with the weather, the starry sky is just stunning. We even received some homegrown asparagus as a parting gift, which was a lovely touch. Definitely recommend!

We spent a lovely weekend at the cottage over Easter and honestly, it was fantastic! The owners greeted us personally and made sure we had all the info we needed. The place was super well-stocked, with thoughtful touches like fresh eggs and shortbread waiting for us. The hot tub was ready to goand the views were simply breathtaking. They were really helpful too, especially when we forgot an onion - they kindly lent us one. All in all, a great stay - we’re already planning to come back!

We had such a lovely time at this cosy cottage! It was genuinely warmer than many others we’ve stayed in, with hot water always available, which was a real plus. The beds were super comfy, we didn’t want to leave them in the mornings. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and firing up the BBQ after a day out exploring. The hosts were really friendly and attentive, but honestly, we didn’t need much as everything was perfect for a great stay. Definitely recommend!

Hedgehog Hospital at Prickly Ball Farm - EX20 3TA

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
Exmoor Zoo - EX31 4SG

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
River Dart Country Park - TQ13 7NP

River Dart Country Park has over 90 acres of woods offering stunning scenic walks, beautiful lakes and open parkland. The park also has a good range of facilities for children including Jungle Ropes, Climbing Frames, Cargo Nets and a wooden Pirate Ship.
