About Crossbury House

In the evening, come home to host a fun BBQ dinner on your cottage’s decked patio. Step inside and you’ll discover a chic open-plan kitchen/dining area with plenty of natural light and a sleek central island anchors the room.

Continue on to the lounge and take a moment to relax by the glowing wood burner. A sun-drenched garden room invites you to unwind.

Alternatively, head out onto the decked patio to enjoy a BBQ feast with your nearest and dearest. Take a dip in the private outdoor hot tub while the kids play in the treehouse on the lawn, or make your way back to the lounge to stretch out in front of your favourite TV show.

At the end of the day, head upstairs and you’ll find four serene bedrooms – one super-king-size, two king-size (one can be made into a twin on request) and one twin room (can be made into a king-size bed on request) – two of which offer en-suite shower rooms. Completing the layout, you’ll find a sleek shower room and a spa-like family bathroom with a Jacuzzi-style bath.

Private parking for five cars. Spend a lovely day exploring the historic streets of Great Torrington (3 miles), where you can learn all about the town's Civil War heritage.

Or set off to explore the breathtaking 65-acre paradise of RHS Rosemoor (4.5 miles). Discover its diverse ‘garden rooms’, like the vibrant Hot Garden, the tranquil Cool Garden, and the iconic Queen Mother's Rose Garden, which boasts over 250 rose varieties.

Exmoor Zoo - EX31 4SG

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park - EX34 0NG

Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The park is home to the worlds only full size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as Lions, Wolves, Sea Lions, Meerkats and many other species, Top attractions include the amazing Sea Lion Shows, Falconry Display and Sea Lion Swims.

Dingles Steam Village is an all weather attraction crammed with activities for the whole family to enjoy. The site has a wonderful Café serving home cooked meals, a fun Soft Play Area for younger children, an Agility Course for older kids and several Nature Trails for the family to explore together. The site also displays working and static exhibits of Steam Engines as well as old Fairground Rides so is educational as well as fun!
The Donkey Sanctuary - EX10 0NU
