About Heron House

Immense measures of luxury await in this incredible 12-person, pet-friendly holiday home. Simply stunning, indoors and out, this expertly designed property offers an unbeatable destination for a getaway with family or friends.

Indulgence is encouraged throughout your time here, whether that’s with a dip in your own private hot tub or delving into wines, gins, preserves and other treats that can be bought from the adjacent farm shop. Neighbouring a vineyard, the accommodation presents impeccable views from every window, with the design maximised to ensure that every room offers a little slice of Devonshire heaven.

Expertly styled throughout, the appeal of this contemporary space hits you from the moment you step inside. One highlight is the impressive kitchen/diner on the ground floor, a space with French doors that gently blend into the exterior space, a kitchen that any chef would be proud to cook in and a wood burner for cosying up to when it’s cold.

Dine in here or step outside, making use of ample space outside to eat. Also outdoors, sunbeds create the perfect lounging space when the sun shines.

Back indoors, five bedrooms and three bathrooms are neatly arranged over two floors, including an appealing kid’s bedroom with two bunk beds, a Smart TV and a games console. This abode enjoys a rural position in Devon’s green countryside, just 2 miles from the lively market town of Honiton and the wider East Devon National Landscape.

From here, the coast is easily accessible, with Sidmouth (9.5 miles) just a car ride away. This seaside destination is perched right on the Jurassic Coast, and is home to awe-inspiring red sandstone cliffs that provide an exceptional backdrop to seascapes.

Exploring other beautiful spots further inland, the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies waiting to be discovered with hiking boots laced up.

Heron House Reviews

Rosemary
The house is welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. Kitchen was well equipped, the bed linen spotless & comfy. We had to report that the hoover wasn't working. The staff in the bistro were very friendly & helpful. We had a great time.

Lovely house, well equipped, good location for beach and country walks. Kids loved it, walk around the vineyard and the playground area, pub about 400 yards away and cafe/vineyard shop next to house serves a good Sunday brunch and breakfast.
Gordon
Super property in a good location. We stayed with the family (3 generations) and were lucky with weather and enjoyed the facilities on hand.
Helen
Absolutely beautiful! The house, gardens and the surrounding vineyard were even better than expectations. All the rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated. The surrounding terraces and balconies had spectacular views. I just wish we had stayed longer to enjoy them. Everything in the kitchen was spotlessly clean as were the bathrooms and bedrooms. I loved the little alcove overlooking the kitchen. Everyone we met in the adjoining restaurant were very welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly recommend it to friends. We may even come down again ourselves in the future.
Matthew
The cottage was very comfortable and generally very well equipped. The location was ideal for days out and close to local amenities.

From start to finish, our weekend at Heron House was nothing short of amazing! I booked it for a hen party, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The hosts were absolutely incredibleâ??so welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. The house itself is stunningâ??beautifully decorated, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The location is equally breathtaking, offering plenty of privacy while still feeling luxurious and special. We also opted for the private chef experience, which was an absolute highlight. The food was outstanding and made our weekend feel even more special. I genuinely cannot fault a single thing about Heron House or the hosts. If youâ??re looking for a place that delivers on every level, this is it. Thank you for making our weekend so perfectâ??we will be talking about it for years to come!
