About Honeysuckle Lodge

Occupying an elevated woodland position at Bulworthy Forest Lodges, just 1.5 miles from the edge of Bideford in North Devon, this two-bedroom timber lodge provides a peaceful retreat surrounded by secluded forest grounds. Sleeping up to four guests, it is well suited to families, couples and friends looking to explore North Devon’s coastline, countryside and historic riverside towns, while enjoying the tranquillity of a woodland setting.

Meandering paths wind through the estate, offering opportunities for leisurely strolls amongst the trees. When you’re ready to venture further afield, discover Bideford’s historic Long Bridge, built in 1268 with its distinctive 24 arches of varying sizes, and browse local crafts and food at the town’s Pannier Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

A few miles from the lodge, the North Devon coast offers wide stretches of beach and scenic coastal walking trails. Inside, the centrally heated and double-glazed lodge offers generous living spaces that make it particularly comfortable for longer stays, family gatherings and relaxing escapes with friends.

The open-plan living area includes a Smart TV and Wi-Fi throughout, creating an inviting space to relax after a day of exploring. The spacious living and dining area provides plenty of room for family meals, board games and quality time together.

Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, the principal bedroom features a double bed and an en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds. A separate family bathroom includes a bath with a shower over.

Bed linen, duvets and towels are provided, and beds are made up ready for arrival. Outside, an enclosed veranda with gates provides a lovely spot to sit and enjoy views across the surrounding woodland.

An electric BBQ and picnic table make al fresco dining easy, while the private covered hot tub offers a sheltered place to relax amongst the trees whatever the weather. Carp and coarse fishing are available on the woodland retreat for guests wishing to cast a line, with equipment to be brought along.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.

Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The park is home to the worlds only full size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as Lions, Wolves, Sea Lions, Meerkats and many other species, Top attractions include the amazing Sea Lion Shows, Falconry Display and Sea Lion Swims.
