When you do head out, discover Broadhembury (4 miles), considered one of the prettiest villages in Devon. Stop off at the community-owned country pub before making your way into the neighbouring National Landscape, exploring Hembury Hillfort (5 miles), walking along the River Tale (4 miles) and finding scenic routes through Combe Wood (8.5 miles).

Discover the ever-changing beauty of the Jurassic Coast (16 miles), a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring a dramatic stretch of ancient cliffs and fascinating fossils. Spend time on the beach at Sidmouth (16 miles) or Seaton (18.5 miles), or head to the harbour town of Exmouth (20 miles).

Wooden panelling, inside and out, enhances the rustic atmosphere of this rural abode, while the interior decor, fixtures and fittings introduce a distinctly contemporary feel, lending the space a modern edge. Sociable living awaits in the open-plan space, where the lounge, kitchen and diner are combined beneath warm lighting and natural daylight.

The lounge offers a plush L-shaped sofa opposite a wood burner and Smart TV, allowing you to rest easy between days of adventure. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with a dining table just beside it.

At the edge of the lodge, a king-size bedroom provides a restful space for uninterrupted nights. It’s a spacious, well-proportioned room featuring a Smart TV for cosy movie nights in bed.

Next to it, an en-suite bathroom is decorated with modern slate tiles and features a walk-in shower and a luxurious standalone bathtub. Step through French doors in the lounge onto the sheltered patio area.

Crealy Great Adventure Park - EX5 1DR

This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ

This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.

The Donkey Sanctuary - EX10 0NU

The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. Visitors will also have the opportunity to adopt a Donkey.

Hedgehog Hospital at Prickly Ball Farm - EX20 3TA

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
