Guests of all ages can gather here for a stylish countryside getaway which is guaranteed to keep everyone entertained. The farmhouse, which sleeps 14 across seven bedrooms, is spacious and characterful, and has plenty to do on-site, with a skittle alley, snooker table, and private hot tub, as well as an outdoor children's play area. Taunton town centre is a 2.5-mile drive away, convenient for stocking up on supplies and spending a pleasant day out visiting the museum, going to the theatre, and grabbing a drink or bite to eat in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Enter by the side door, and step into the charming kitchen diner, with exposed wooden beams, an AGA (operational October to March inclusive), and wood burner set back into an inglenook fireplace. It's sure to be the social hub of the house, with enough room for everyone around the table, to share stories and ideas for the days ahead over a hearty home-cooked meal. Cosy down in one of the two lounges, both with soft seating to curl up on and watch TV as you relax. When it's raining, or you simply want a day at ease inside, then head for the games area, available from 10am to 10pm daily. All ages will feel the thrill of competition as they set up a snooker tournament and challenge one another to a game in the delightful antique skittle alley. After a day of excitement, and when you're ready for a good night's sleep, climb one of the staircases to bed: the first floor is split-level, and divided into two wings. Up one staircase you'll discover five bedrooms, three king-size (one with an en-suite) and two twins, as well as a bathroom and two shower rooms, so there'll be no queues for a hot soak or a bubble bath! The second staircase leads to the final two bedrooms, a king-size and a double, both with an en-suite. Once everyone is feeling refreshed and recharged from their stay, and the weather is warm, host a celebration outside. Grill a selection of treats on the BBQ and dine alfresco on the large lawn as the sun sets, followed by a dip in the hot tub.

Knowles Reviews

Geoffrey
This is a huge house, in a spectacular location, with a beautiful garden and views.
Eric
Knowles is a super large Victorian ideal for holidays with friends and family. The grounds are lovely and the location is perfect.
Ian
Large house with plenty of parking and well maintained gardens. Great location with local shops and pubs close by and playing fields with tennis courts over the road. Enjoyed our stay.
Carey
Great house for large multigenerational families.
Karen
We had 5 generations staying at Knowles over Christmas! The house worked really well for us all, from the downstairs en-suite bedroom with sitting room to all the upstairs bedrooms with en-suites. The owners who live nearby could not be more helpful and friendly. The house retains lots of its original features and although old fashioned in lots of Read morerespects it is also well furnished and very comfortable. The beds were wonderful and we all slept well. The kitchens worked well and again really well equipped. Christmas lunch for 11 is no mean feat but again there was an abundance of pots, pans etc, There was so much space inside and out that at no time did we feel crowded. We would highly recommend this house for large families or groups of friends getting together. The garden is wonderful, parking in abundance and the views beautiful. What more can I say? Hide
