About The Manor At Wear Farm

Set in an elevated position overlooking the Teign Estuary, this grand and characterful country home offers space, comfort and breathtaking views in equal measure. Enjoying a peaceful setting on the edge of Teignmouth, the property is ideally placed for exploring South Devon, with Teignmouth’s seafront and promenade just 1.5 miles away and scenic estuary walks direct from the house with river access, ideal for launching small boats at high tide and paddle boarding.

The charming village of Shaldon, with its sandy beach and welcoming pubs, lies approximately 2 miles away, while the wide sands and nature reserve at Dawlish Warren are around 5 miles. Further afield, the vibrant harbour town of Torquay sits roughly 9 miles away, Exeter is around 14 miles, and the dramatic landscapes of Dartmoor National Park can be reached in approximately 18 miles, making this an excellent base for both coastal adventures and countryside exploration.

Stepping through the front door, the heart of the home unfolds into a wonderfully appointed kitchen, complete with a central island, perfect for preparing leisurely meals. Just off the kitchen is a practical laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and WC.

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.

Paignton Zoo - TQ4 7EU

Paignton Zoo is one of the UK's largest zoos and is home to thousands of animals from all over the world. Family favourites include the fun and playful Lemurs of Lemur Wood, and the inquisitive and cheeky Monkeys of Monkey Heights. River Dart Country Park - TQ13 7NP

River Dart Country Park has over 90 acres of woods offering stunning scenic walks, beautiful lakes and open parkland. The park also has a good range of facilities for children including Jungle Ropes, Climbing Frames, Cargo Nets and a wooden Pirate Ship. For younger children there is a toddlers Play Area and a small Beach. During high season supervised activities may include the mega Zip Wire, Canoeing and Rock Climbing.
Crealy Great Adventure Park - EX5 1DR

This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Woodlands Leisure Park - TQ9 7DQ

Woodlands in Dartmouth is a fantastic theme park with non stop fun for everyone. It's also home to the UK's biggest indoor venture centre.  Some of the most thrilling rides are the Cyclone Watercoasters, the Sidewinder and The Mighty Twister.  For younger children there is the Golden Bear City - a superb wild west world with a school house, farm and much more.  All ages are catered for here so why not check out their website for the latest events and admission prices?  You can even watch video clips of the park online.
The Donkey Sanctuary - EX10 0NU

The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. Visitors will also have the opportunity to adopt a Donkey.
Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ
